Haha, I wasn't active when the retagging happened and I didn't want to be in <BDA> so I dropped it and snagged a Unknown Guild tag for the meantime! I'm on Illtair 90% of the time these days to do ports and invites and stuff anyway.

Understand, the guys that are coming after you know how to 2-box, have been playing EQ for years and years, and take an active dislike to people circumventing the most basic rule of the server, especially when there are tons of servers around to box on (including live). You WILL get caught eventually if you level with a 2box. People get away with doing transfers and buffing/porting/rezzing themselves, but that's about it. Just roll a solo class if you want to play on here without other people - boxing will not save you time in the long run because you'll just end up having to reroll once you're banned.

I guess it's time to start this up again. Coming back from over a year away (only got to lvl 30 though, Troll SK  ), thinking about rolling a Paladin. Are Ghoulbanes NO DROP yet or could I still buy one? If so, about how much are they running for these days?

Note, Sword of the Morning (16/27) is also around 1k, though a Ghoulbane (15/34) is amazingly better at 20 when you're fighting undead. There's some solid 2Handers for low low prices as well. Paladins are super cheap to twink as they're fairly unpopular. DW armor would be basically given away if it wasn't a few hundred pp to a vendor.

If you're really into boxing and want to become a boxing champ, check out PEQ The Grand Creation. It has xp boost,etc. and goes up to whatever expansion came out after PoP. It regularly has hundreds of people logged in at any given time, representing dozens of active players. Run a 24 man raid all by yourself. When that bores you, come back to P99 and play one character well.

I would suggest a sword of skyfire until it starts proccing as it's cheap as sin and a pretty solid melee wep. Also, the ghoulbane quest will never be available on this server.

I'd love to get my cleric to 30-35 and park him, then level him up through Velious. I just don't have time to hang around, but I can do like...8-9 CST if we plan something, heh. I think he's 10 or 12 or something. I'd love to finally meet The Great And Powerful Sirduh!

With EQMac gone, I've returned to P1999 as well. Started a necro, because I love to solo. Zliznec the Gnecro is online! Already got a protip: Don't AFK too much at low levels, because your food and drink will go to waste. I love the little challenges like this.

I'm getting on sirduh tonight. I'm either going to haunt Cazic (my fav zone) or Droga for powerleveling. Cazic works for levels 8 and higher, just be able to hit the mob at least once, only need 1 dmg. The challenge is for you to get there without dying. I don't suppose anyone has any troubleshooting advice? The Project 1999 forums and googling haven't helped. I can make it to the server selection screen, but as soon as I select the P99 server, the game boots me back to the login screen. I'm running a duel monitor SLI setup, and I've disabled both the secondary monitor and SLI, tried running WinEQ2, done eqclient.ini editing, followed the setup instructions to a T from a fresh Titanium install, etc. I've been trying to crack this nut for most of today and I'm not sure what the problem is.

Thinking about giving this a try during the exp bonus period since EQMac is destined for the great beyond. (RIP EQMac  )Which would be the better solo class - monk or necromancer? I always enjoyed both way back in the day. Also does the goon guild still have folks in it? I added myself to the roster in the OP, but it doesn't seem like many others are on there and none appear to be online at the moment. How do I hook up with other goons on the server for groups and such?

There were about 6 of us on earlier, I had to log to get work done. Someone should be able to hook up with you in the next day or two. Necro is definitely a better solo class, especially as a first character, but monk is one of the better solo melee classes if that's more your speed (but still far worse at untwinked soloing than a necro). I'd level up a necro a bit and see how you like it.

Yeah I might give necro a go then. I always liked the flexibility that feign death offered, but spells are just so much fun.  Would you happen to have any links to old necro soloing guides? I was able to find this excellent one for monks from classic EQ, but haven't found anything else as well-written or explanatory for necromancers. Also I am leaning Iksar for the AC and regen that they get, but is there a better race to play as a Necromancer? Ultravision on Dark Elves is quite nice as I recall, but I think Iksar are still king of soloing yeah?

Necros get FD too, not to mention harmshield, summon corpse, and lots of other cool utility stuff. Pretty much everything you want to know is on the wiki. The P99 wiki is quite awesome at this point. Necros are by far my favorite first class on any server. You can go from 1-60 in your underwear. Gear doesn't matter. Once you're high enough to farm money/items for your other characters, you can park the necro in EC to be your tunnel bitch.

I felt the extra regen really took the edge off the life to mana drain spells. The area Iksars start in is pretty nice too. Since your faction stinks in every old world city, you can feel free to kill anything you desire there pretty much.
