Kony Kid posted:the stock flag hand guards are worthless and would be removed anyway? Also i'm curious as to why you're asking about the frame scratching? do you think they rode it around before the sale? They are better than not having any at all. But when a shop is paying flat rate for a build and PDI they will omit some things that are 'optional' out of the box. I asked about scratches, because I have seen some pretty sloppy / sketchy spring installs if you don't have the pliers. VTNewb posted:1) yes Does KTM USA still give out the bottle openers in the took kits? Adjust the throttle housing so the cable rotate a bit more forward, the grips don't line up. Grip OCD.

edit: New page. Did not see someone had already asked about Bottle opener. ^^ Screw the pen, do they still put a bottle opener in there? Also... Race weekend for round 8 of OHSCS. Was a good weekend. Wadded my helmet up. Visor and all that kinda got gonked too. At least I'm pretty dependable. 1 lap, last place, like a boss. Quick clip. Hung on sapling stuck between brake lever and case. Got it free, then ghost rode the bike wtf. I don't even... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQxEQaLcRzU No more go pro on top of the helmet. Tree tried to take my head off. Wrecked visor. And KO'ed my goggle lense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd_og5jP2C0 Finally, full "highlights video" of riding and various stuff. Also some cussing, just so you're warned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkuOc1lyEAM Still good times all around. Whoo! p.s. KTM toast is pretty boss.

Vork!Vork!Vork! posted:never stop silver lol, well. From the top thus far... First time out, didn't adjust anything on the bike and hand guards were too low. Shot myself at a tree, dodged tree with front wheel caught tree with my left fist, whiskey throttled the bike when the bars snapped to the left making it shoot out from under me and loop out bending the bars and tweaking the subframe just a bit. p.s. No I don't wear rings while riding anymore. This one was more cold and dirty than painful. Full on swan dive into mud. Sadly, he wasn't close enough behind me to get my dive into mud, just the aftermath. I'm completely soaked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4XvYHn_b3M Next up, second race, there was a route around this jump I didn't see until I was on top of it. Nose dived it and center punched the bars with my chest. Took a bit of the breath out of me and if I didn't have a chest protector on I'm sure would have completely knocked the wind out of me and probably broke a few ribs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anzzGmJFT7U Moto track lock the front and tumble? OK. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIvMtSHYV6c Next up, tits over rear end down a 4 foot embankment. Just basic falling over. Losing the front and donking into 2 trees. Also a couple of whoops from my buddy Bob in there too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vGX5rXUE-8 Shoulder checking a tree. Had to sit there for a bit after this one and rotate it and cuss more and try to figure out if I broke anything. Also did this in the first two minutes of us starting out riding. Just watch the first 10 seconds of vid, the rest is crappy footage with a first gen go pro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDXESN-MWCs Aftermath was... which yes, definitely bruised up good. And I think that about sums it up so far. Lots of other crashes and falling over too, but not a lot of video. Oh and being a dumb rear end I got heat exhaustion at the Wolfs Den 2 race, I have video of that but not a lot and kinda boring. That sucked and I basically did everything you're NOT supposed to do when you get heat exhaustion, I found that out later when I googled it.

Messed around with the high speed settings on the GoPro 2 at MX practice today. Sure would be neat to record at 240fps with the a Hero 3 Black. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YijtRdj69oc Also, Youtube's compression totally butchered that video, might have to start using Vimeo. Well that explains it, it kind of looks like Youtube didn't like the aspect ratio, so it stretched it out. Zool fucked around with this message at 06:14 on Sep 27, 2013 |

Pretty poor showing for me at my MX race today. 1st moto my fuel line dry break fitting partially detached. I was down two laps before I got it fixed. 2nd moto I got my tire caught on the gate, then wiped out six seconds later trying to make up ground and running out of talent. I knocked the wind out of myself and hurt my hand. At least I didn't break it.

I'll seriously consider it. The biggest problem I have right now is I only just got on my bike Saturday after 5 months of recovering from my shattered kneecap. I'm definitely not fit to ride real offroad yet, but if I keep pushing I might make it by the end of the month. I did just get a plate for my bike, Anna's bike we're hoping to have plated this month as well so we can do NETRA snow run and ECEA Sandy Lane early next year.

Kinda bummed, pretty sure going to miss last race of season this Sunday, got some sort of cold/nasty that isn't going away so if not 100% by Sat I probably won't race on Sunday. Sucks, but ah well. Would post my First ride review of a 2013 Husky te310 but in a nutshell it's me going "GAWD THIS THING IS WEIRD" and talking about how long and fat it feels. National Enduro at Draper(OKC) in a week. Going to have demo trucks there so plan on going and trying to ride every bike there. Some twice if I can. We'll see. Skipping the enduro as I've never done one and starting it out with a national probably not the best idea. Figure start on Enduros next year.

I'm not enduro expert (where's Eric?), but I do one or two a year, and all I typically do is make sure to find the guy who knows what he's doing, and make sure I'm the prescribed time ahead or behind of him. It's good enough for a class podium! Also allows you to slowly figure out time keeping.

My fellow dirtbike goons, I have a question! What's the best way (outside of practice) to build endurance and pace whilst riding enduros? I know I've got the ability to ride the majority of tracks around my house (Australia), but I want to become faster at actually riding them. I guess it should be noted that I have been riding for around 8 years, so it's not like I'm a total turtle or anything, but I've been thinking about doing a few races (at the lowest level) and such, which I know I'd get dominated in pace wise.

Personally I need to quit smoking and that would help with endurance. So working on that. But would also like to know about exercises that would help with that. Just got a mountain bike and want to start doing trails on it. Also one of the things I'd like to find out a lot about would be nutrition. Basically how to eat on the whole, before a race, finding out now that bros are doing electrolyte tabs mid race as well, just various stuff like that to help out with fitness, endurance, and getting faster.

blurry cell picture of 2011 ktm 300 xc that i got recently. I was able to ride it yesterday for a good test. This bike moves alright, there was only once that I thought could use a bit more power. The springs are way to stiff for me but once I get them reworked and the bars raised this bike is going to be perfect. it has the auto clutch which is handy for not stalling but other than that it is not that useful. I would probably not drop the money on a auto clutch if it did not already have one. the previous owner removed the e-start which given the auto clutch makes sense. dropped near 9 pounds by doing so. I would not use the e-start for cold starts or hole shots anyways and it kicks easy enough (although you can tell it is a 300)

Nice on the bike Vork!! When did you think it needed more power? The 300XC-W which is a step below power on yours I thought was a monster. My 200 came with auto clutch so I've only test ridden and ridden a few buddies bikes that are clutch only. Seem to do ok with it, I hear it's the really tight stuff where it shines, per my buddy who had one but hasn't put one in on his new bike. Also what model? Does it have the full clutch override?

It has the gnarly pipe so there is some loss on the top end but the low and mid pull is insane which is what I need. There was a steep extremely sandy uphill on the mototrack which used all the power it had. I cant complain though because it still had enough power to walk past a 450 on that hill I am amazed at how light it is considering how much power it has
