The voice acting felt like an old Working Designs RPG and I definitely recognized selections from the Skies of Arcadia soundtrack in there.

What is this? It's a Cucumber Quest fan game in the style of the Ace Attorney series illustrated by HelloWinter and written and programmed by myself, with a little help from some others including forums user LordAndrew. It's more or less the length of an average first case in the Ace Attorney series. Click the screen or use the space bar to advance text, double-click evidence to present it. The game does trip firewalls because it technically accesses the Internet when it is launched, but don't worry; it's not required (if you run it without a connection you can click "no" on a prompt and it will work) and nothing is being collected. The reason is that it is made in BYOND, an engine designed for multiplayer games and probably one of the least efficient things that this could have been made in. But hey, it was fun! Download the DS resolution-size version here or the double-size version here! Smooglii fucked around with this message at 05:07 on Oct 30, 2013 |

Just got past the first cross-examination, and I really wish that the window was bigger or could at least be manually resized. Being stuck with a tiny, tiny window that I can't do much with is pretty annoying.

The game certainly didn't let me down! I've seen fan projects gone through Ace Attorney with blah writing, but this one never failed to entertain. Possibly because Cabbage was in it being Cabbage, but still...

Eventually I threw up my hands and combined every bit of evidence with every bit of testimony in the third cross-examination. When I finally got the right one I felt kinda dumb. I kept thinking I needed to use either the lunchbox to show Cucumber didn't want the money because he didn't take it or the cake to show Cabbage was willing to buy things for the kids and his line about the books was a cover.

Oh my God! Bravo you guys! This was exactly what I needed after finishing AA5. You captured all the little details that makes it feel like an Ace Attorney game. I assumed the same as General Ironicus about what I was supposed to do for the last cross-examination. That was tricky. I thought for sure Cabbage was also the thief mentioned in the paper.

I'm really impressed with how well that little game captured the characters' personalities. It was also pretty tough, though I managed not to lose. Barely. Anyway, very well done!

Superstring posted:I thought for sure Cabbage was also the thief mentioned in the paper. That's sort of what I was expecting as well; that he robbed the bakery to be able to make the cake in the first place. When that was debunked, I still didn't call the potential of him being a victim of the thief. That said, once I got to the final testimony I figured that was involved somehow, I just wasn't sure exactly how until it was explained.

Not if it follows anime percentage filling rules. Heck, it might even go beyond 100% for no logical reason.
