I liked it, but I have to say I hope this is the last time we see a Lethal Weapon movie joke. It's toeing the edge of tired.

That episode was so bad I kinda don't want to watch the show any more. I think I was mildly amused once or twice, but that's it. They can't all be gems.

Half the comedy happened between the cuts. Like when Dee walks in the the evidence, and then they cut to Dennis taking credit and Dee out of the picture. You have to fill in the misogynist commentary and bird insults with your imagination.

My favorite hypothetical scene has to be the argument about the ethics of blackface that probably happened in the shower.

Mac slowly melting while Dennis looked on in incredulity and repeatedly pantomiming 'what the gently caress?' was pretty amazing.

I was worried it was going to be self-indulgent, and it was. There's really nothing funny about watching characters make a bad movie itself. You can only make bad editing jokes so many times. What was funny about the Lethal Weapon 5 episode was them arguing about blackface like idiots and then the surprise of seeing it at the end. Also the first one was like 5 minutes long and this one was nearly the whole episode.

Oh well. It's the only episode I've disliked this season.

If they could've, they probably would have cut all of Dee's parts, but her role as Murtaughs daughter was a bit too integral to the plot. "Lady Starship” seems to have been kept solely because Dennis likes tits.

Yeah, I think this is the first ever episode of the show that I really disliked. Far too many comedy shows have done the bad movie gimmick before, and this one really didn't add anything new except for the blackface stuff, and that wasn't all that great of a callback either. Ah well, for a show to go nine seasons and only have one genuinely bad episode is pretty loving amazing.

I loved how Mac was complaining that the scene was too confusing and needed "like a whole scene" of exposition.

You guys ready to hear a satanic song?
I straight up loved that episode. Mac being Danny Glover in blackface, all the manass, Frank eventually turning it into a full-penetration porn, and them switching characters were all the elements that turned this episode into a real homerun.

Also, is there any news of there being a 10th season? I thought they said they were discussing it but hadn't come to any type of full-on decision yet.

I like that the Gang can shoot and edit an (almost) flawless movie but when it comes to making a commercial or other short film with
their other one camera it completely falls apart :v:

Also, are we to understand that Frank was asked about and has over 40 million dollars? I mean we know he's rich but it's interesting seeing them put some sort of number on it.

I think it's because they're trying to ape the style of whatever they're trying to do, so they have a lot of frantic cutting to random things during their high energy sales pitches/commercials, and the movies are slower-paced like a real movie. They just get carried away when they're doing the shorter videos, and most of the time it seems Charlie has a hand in editing those.

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.

No, the special effects stayed lovely. They were asking for Hollywood money in part so they could redo their special effects on a bigger budget.

It's been done before so I was expecting not to like it, but honestly it was still really funny. I think if they did it again, it'd be too tired, but this was executed really well. Probably too much good stuff to list but:
Charlie pulling out the photo of the twin to justify bringing his character back
Dee blowing up at the wedding and Frank pulling off the mask
The plot to flood everywhere and make the Indian reservation oceanfront property, plus the umbrella factory for all the rain
That scene with Charlie see-through because of bad green screening
The hot dudes in the volleyball game and showers
The cut turning Dee into that other woman
and i dunno a whole a lot more was all really good stuff.

I just saw Ender's Game today and won't spoil anything specific, but throughout the whole movie I felt like Ender's Game and Lethal Weapon 6 were very similar with the absurd amount of exposition. Mac would have loved it. However, I felt like Dennis, minus the sociopath thoughts and erection ability.

I feel like it would have been a much better episode if it actually followed the title and we see them try (and fail) to make Lethal Weapon 6, instead of going around showing it to everyone.

He was just bluffing in that scene to get a photo of Bovine Joni with Dennis, for all we know he's got way less money than that, or way more.

The cut to Dee at the wedding and Artemis with the beard and then her make-up running were the best parts for me. Thought the whole episode was fairly good though, despite having seen none of the Lethal Weapon films. Debating rectifying that, now.
