It's only may 15th and possibly a day or at the most. You'll all be fine.

Vagrancy posted:Nothing "legacy" about it, they massively upgraded the Gallery's photo editor in KitKat: It looks good, but the Gallery updates in 4.3 ran like poo poo on my Nexus 4. I actually had it crash on me a few times when I had lots of local adjustments, sometimes the UI would have to refresh when I tapped the image to see the original. It sucked because the thing ran flawlessly in 4.2 and 4.3 didn't add that much to Gallery.

According to the spreadsheet, some of you still have invites for Aviate left to hand out. There's some folks at the bottom of that list who would really enjoy one, if you wouldn't mind checking in on that. Thanks!

Is there a list of recommended apps to replace basic ones like messaging, phone, and the keyboard? I got Textra for messaging, Timely for the alarm clock, and Google photos and I was wondering what else I should get for the stuff like the camera, phone, and contacts EDIT: Actually an updated list of goon recommended apps would be awesome. Good point keep talkin fucked around with this message at 19:46 on Nov 5, 2013 |

Hey guys, I have been searching the forums to no avail, and testing apps too. But my girlfriend needs an Android app that can wake her up in 4 hour increments. She takes a sleep medication, and has issues programming alarms every night for varying bedtimes. Any suggestions? I am looking for an app where she can tell her phone that she is going to bed, and it will automatically set 2 alarms, one for 4~ hours and one for optimum wake up time at 8~hours.

Gentle Alarm can do quick Alarms that you can set to go off in X hours, has to be done manually though. Tasker can definitely do that for her, you'll have to setup the profile/task but you can then create a widget on the homescreen to trigger it. It's slightly over-engineering what you need but it'll definitely do it.

She takes a sleep medication, and has issues programming alarms every night for varying bedtimes. Any suggestions? Are you on stock Android? The clock app has countdown timers (click the hourglass icon). You could add one of those for 4 hours and one for 8, give them labels and just have her start them when she hits the hay. Once you stop a timer you can hit the reset icon and it'll go back to the full time you entered, so you don't need to keep setting them up each time. So it's basically tap the clock, tap the hourglass, then tap both timers to start them. Not as simple as a bedtime button, but it might be an option if you don't find anything better e- the alarm is an obnoxious beeping if that matters

I've always used Cyanogenmod's Torch app as a flashlight, which was awesome and had a lock screen widget. Is there a way to get that app without having Cyanogenmod? If not, is there a good flashlight app that doesn't have a million ridiculous permissions that also has a lock screen widget?

Just got a an N5 so two things: 1) Does anyone know if the Hangouts will archive SMS convos the same as it currently does with normal Hangouts? If not 2) can anyone recommend an SMS backup app (like SMS backup+ NOT a complete SMS replacement) that is still updated so it might work with the new Hangouts?
|
# ? Nov 6, 2013 00:21 |

1. No 2. Dunno, but Hangouts being the SMS app is irelevent, the messages are still in the message store.

Anyone got an app suggestion that will tell me in detail exactly what is using my 4g/wifi data in realtime? Something today has burned through 90% of my triple-size ZeroLemon battery (that usually lasts 2.5 to 3 days on average use) by running the 4g antenna constantly and it's just coming up as 'Android System'. It's happened a couple times before and I'm dying to know what fuckup app is moving so much data.

TeslaLED doesn't have a lockscreen widget apparently, which is a huge bummer. I ended up pulling Cyanogenmod's Torch off of my GNex's last backup. Just sideloading the APK seemed to work fine.
