I don't how cute and uplifting this may be but I'm saying it anyway. When me and my brother where kids, I was always the better one at videogames, he always came to me to get him through the toughest spots. I'm currently 30, he's 32, he still does this despite us living about 2 hours from each other.

CherryCat posted:It's nothing compared to some of the stories in this thread but after being made redundant two months ago my dad started his dream job today. He had to give up his car so I was the one who dropped him off at the station this morning, just seeing his face made my day, he was like an excited schoolboy. While money and things still aren't great at the moment it's enough to know that he's finally doing something he loves. I hope I can have that satisfaction too one day. Don't say this is nothing. It's not nothing. This means a lot. To think that you can move on... you can do better... hope means a lot, and sometimes just a little bit of hope means a lot more.

A story from Finland: a dude was kayaking when he noticed an unlikely swimmer approaching him. It was a Northern Hawk Owl which had most likely fallen into water after being chased by crows. The bird was cold and tired. After spotting the kayak it tried to swim away, but then turned around and tried to climb on the kayak. This nice person picked the bird up from the water and the poor owl crawled into the man's lifejacket to keep warm. The man returned to shore where there was a museum and the museum's guide found the owl a cardboard box and a blanket. Minced meat was given, but the owl didn't eat. When evening came the owl started making all kinds of angry sounds, so the box was taken outside and little fellow flew off. Off the coast I've had giant sea turtles pop up for a breath and a bit of a gander as to what is happening.
