Oh wow, the swap character version of the car selling glitch is way better than the method I was using. I was trying to dupe the car first. Also I think I've easily spent like $125k on my buzzard insurance. This thing will bankrupt you. Luckily the game is well balanced and I can make that money back almost instantly.

New favorite thing to do is grab the Simeon vehicle, get to an LSC and then upgrade its armor and slap on bullet proof tires. Then I drive around like a maniac attracting randoms and police. As soon as I do it becomes a frantic test of my driving skill to take every back ally, every side street and evade as many things and people as I can while keeping this car out of anyone's hands.

I hate to be that guy, but I just did a Grand Tour race where I was in first for about 63 of 68 checkpoints and did not crash once, but because of catch up, the pubbies not only could constantly catch up to me but pass me at lightning speed, despite crashing on nearly every turn. Then the host lagged out at the last 3 check points, causing me to pass through checkpoints without actually getting them, and I got a DNF. 1st place for 63/68 checkpoints, and got a DNF. gently caress this game. Edit: It's Mario Kart, dude. Good play doesn't mean poo poo if Catch up is on, which it is in 99% of pub races. What's the point? DM sucks, racing sucks unless you've got buddies, parachute racing sucks, missions suck. I've been saying nothing but good things about GTAO since day one, but holy poo poo is it wearing thin. Has anyone got any tips for racing? How to avoid PITs, how to do PITs properly, taking corners, slipstreams, boosts on start, things to avoid etc. I really suck at this. Any time I get hit I finish in the lower few (I blame lag but I really suck at this). Be nice to have something like this in the OP because racing is a really good way to earn money and RP.

I'm not an expert and I don't mean to be unhelpful or obtuse but practice really does make perfect. I've played the GTA games since the 2D and it's one of those games you really develop a instinctual understanding of the physics and controls. I think the normal brake is a hell of a lot more effective in GTAV. Can't help with the PIT stuff... Again, I know it doesn't help but I think the jousting for position and high-potential of being knocked out of the race is part of what makes the GTA racing so fun!

Commute with Pubbies is hilarious because I have been pitted off the starting line, ended up in last, then racing a clean race the rest of the way, finishing first through the destruction derby of cars flying off the highway.

Just got on for the first time in several days because I've been busy with other games. Downloaded 1.05. When I first got in, I got a message from Rockstar saying they deposited $500,001 into my bank account. I had done the car sell glitch and all my money was still there, so now I have $1.9 mil in my bank. My $330k apartment is still intact, as are all my fully modded cars in my garage

I got it too but couldn't think of a thing to do, so I bought the bison, saw how ugly it was and unmoddable then sold it and played guilty gear. Already have an entity and z-type AND the f-620 AND the free car, too many coupes to even think about the Adder anymore. And then after that I have 3 suvs, Chrome Sheriff, GoonKingXL, Merryweather-ish jeep. I have that one cool 4 door though, I'm holding off on my tenth garage spot. It actually seems like the more aggressive racers end up in last place more often than not. A couple tips I think I should share: I realized the wall tip really only works for Down the Drain and maybe a few other tracks. And even then it's not foolproof because if someone's reckless enough, they'll just attempt to slam you against the wall, making you flip, instead of PITing you. There was another post I wish I could find where someone mentioned the optimal way to take corners; as straight as possible, going wide before the turn and hugging the corner as much as you can.

I pissed a pubbie off so hard tonight that he threw his microphone down and I could still hear him yelling obscenities at me. We were racing in a full Criminal Records race and I took first place three times in a row, and I fishtailed him at various points in each race. At first he tried to shame me because I "wasn't racing clean" and told me that I couldn't race worth a poo poo, then I proceeded to beat him two more times without touching anyone and thus "racing clean" which just pissed him off even more. I love it when people bitch when they get spun out in races. I mean gently caress, you're racing in a game called Grand Theft Auto not Forza Motorsport. The difference is that we gain RP (XP) by winning races by any means necessary, and by spinning your rear end out we unlock stuff like rocket launchers or better suspension or a number of other poo poo that has nothing to do with racing, but it's still all connected. This isn't a full-on racing game yet the hardcore racers get so mad when you don't "race clean" that their tears could fill the Caspian Sea
