Yeah I can't even get mad at the Pretty Princess type of Mary Sue, it's just how 13-year-old girls deal with being awkward and a bit pudgy and badly-dressed with a dorky haircut. It's charming really and they'll grow out of it Back in the real world, purple eyes probably mean you're an albino which is nowhere near as fun and sexy as fiction makes it out to be.

I don't know if it's a company-wide policy, but a friend that works at a local Lowe's said that they cut every single non-salaried employee down to less than 25 hours a week after the newest round of reforms went into effect, and sent out a letter blaming the ACA for the cut in hours. Even before the newest reforms went into effect, he had been working full-time hours but had signed a waiver to not receive any full-time benefits such as more comprehensive insurance or any retirement benefits. The worst part is that he even bought into their bullshit rhetoric despite usually being an intelligent and politically aware person; I just told him that it wasn't the government's fault that Lowe's considered a couple hundred dollars a month in pay and benefits more valuable than the life of an employee they're pushing to remain in the company. My friend wants to go into academia, but the store manager has been telling him to be realistic and apply to an empty department manager position instead. As for the Idiot on Facebook, I've already defriended them so I don't have a screencap, but the first thing that popped up on my feed from a distance acquaintance that sent me a friend request recently was a link to David Duke's (KKK member that ran for president in '88) website. The preview text was, "34,000 white women raped by black men every year, 0 black women raped by white men ever." Preem Palver has a new favorite as of 16:32 on Nov 8, 2013 |

An incredibly stupid justification that doesn't hold up to even slight scrutiny, mind you, but that doesn't stop them from doing it. Wish someone could point that out to him and watch his brain break.

We 'discovered' carbs about 65 million years ago, we've literally been eating them the entire time our line has been primates. We, as a species, really got into carbs in a big way about 12,000 years ago. All that heart disease stuff is like 50 years old for the majority of the population.
