I haven't had the sandstorm at the Hotel, but the mist at the Mansion was crippling, I'm pretty sure it spawns zombies on you if you're in it too long. The blizzard in the Castle slows you down, but since it only happens outside you can pretty easily avoid it. An attack on all the camps might just be the sandstorm's 'thing', I don't know.

The Fog effect on the Mansion map is pretty cool. You have to stay within lit areas (i.e. around lamps, clear tells are on the ground), but being outside of them doesn't hinder or damage or do other annoying things to you (unless you're in the fog for more than ten seconds, in which case I'm pretty sure you die). **I beat The Castle on Solo Nightmare, 3/18 survivors. Fun Facts: Save explosive mines to drop when you're surrounded or otherwise behind the curve, and equip Leeching Frenzy. Suppressing Fire and Dragon's Breath are your friends. ***The Hotel, 1/15 survivors. If succeeding at all is meant to be considered good, then I take back what I said, and this difficulty is well-balanced. Looks like getting Platinum is about doing even more AoE than what I have now, a whole variety of melee and melee/magic builds are popping up. You pretty much either save everybody or barely anybody, there's not really a middle ground. Cheston fucked around with this message at 23:34 on Nov 9, 2013 |

This aux situation is getting out of hand. Edit: Joel posted:The latter. If I recorded only Issue #8, for example, the actor would have been done in 45mins, but been paid for 4 hrs. Some actors have a minimum 4hr rate so if you hire them for 4hrs and only use them for 1, you still pay as if you had them for 4hrs. So the actress recording for Issue 8-11 means nothing suggesting any significant Tokyo progress and more Funcom had to do that or lose money. It keeps beating me so silly I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I haven't run into it on my main yet, who is the only one with the skills to hinder it properly but it's not really easy to swap out into a Mama Padurii hinder spec on the fly. Good news is you don't actually have to kill it, just run down the clock.

I'm picking this game up for the first time since a little bit into launch. I'm a grandmaster and whatnot, so I figured I'd play a bit more and get my money'd worth. I started over since I don't remember a thing about the story, and I read through the thread. Currently rocking elemental/blade and loving it. Quick question though: is the consensus to rush QL 10 on my main weapon first and use that to get a good weapon off the AH? Or should I get to QL 6 and go run to the Wabanaki for a weapon off the vendor there. Really I've got a lot of Solomon Island Sequins and no idea what to spend them on. SP is the real bottleneck.

My suggestion is to get your primary weapon up to level 5 and head to blue mountain and pick up the blue weapon using sequins, then level up your talismans and a secondary weapon to match the mission rewards and mob drops. You can use this strategy all the way through Egypt and into Transylvania. The rest of your horde of sequins can be exchanged for lottery bags which you can either open for a rare chance to get aux weapon upgrades or signet bags, or sell them on the AH and let pubbies be stupid with their money. When you get your primary weapon to level 9, pester some goons to start running you through elites. Then you can just get a set of ql 10 blue gear to use while leveling and early nightmare dungeon runs.

Since very hard and devastating missions' XP is much reduced, you're probably better off not rushing too far ahead with your weapon skill. Unlocking higher level missions will make SP gains much faster too. Even with a blue QL6 weapon (you only need QL5 skill for that initially) from the Blue Mountain vendor you shouldn't have any trouble until you're getting blues from Egypt dungeons or greens from Transylvania.

Yeah, the augments are really weedy for their requirements. It's a shame, becaue I really like them, but it seems like you're going to have to get a few ranks on them to get an appreciable result. A lot of the purple damage ones especially look pretty crap. The blue damage ones look good, and the other fields of augments all look pretty awesome, but the purple damage ones are just sad. I feel like the support augments will be really good, but only if they're put into low-cooldown abilities.

So have I misunderstood this, or are they implying we'll need to do the scenario bullshit in order to play Tokyo? Because gating being able to reach one issue behind tedious crap which is only slightly lessened by buying a different issue seems like a really poor decision.

You need 80 Oreos of Initiation to get into Tokyo. Which is stupidly easy, even if you only have access to the Hotel, and chances are by the time Tokyo comes out we'll have more than Seek and Preserve to choose from. It's not like they're hard, and it's not like they're as blindly grindy as NM dungeons. But in other news, I want to punch whoever it was that thought having a Padurii final boss for the Castle was a good idea.

I agree it's no big deal to earn 80 oreos, but I still think using it for gating is dumb (although the "story" mission implies this, we don't know if they're going to do it).Len posted:It's a fine idea they aren't that hard to kill. orcane fucked around with this message at 11:26 on Nov 11, 2013 |

Can anyone confirm this works: Solo NM on Platinum You may grab friends with you. 1)Each participant should take NM solo scenario you whant to do, while out of group. 2) Create a group 3) Go in 4) Your group will end up in scenario NM solo mode. 5) Steamroll it, but be wary.... there are sometimes a nasty surprises. 6) This also works for Duo mode. But there is no point of doing it unless going for achievement. Because if it does let's get some hats tonight.

There have been some individual cases of people being temp banned for exploiting nightmares, the reset glitch and eblis stuff. Those are mostly just rumors, but it is confirmed that a ton of people had their black marks in pvp rolled back from the Fusang and stonehenge exploits. There were also confirmed temp bans for people idling in pvp. So the moral of my soapbox is that pvprs are the ones who get hosed because they get reported by other players. You could get away with this if you don't run with pubbies or doushe goons like me, Thwoomps and Mayushii.
