Ken Russell's Lair of the White Worm has Roman soldiers attacking a nunnery; arrows might have been involved but I honestly can't remember.

I saw this some time in the late 90s or early 00s on TV while falling asleep, but it's been bothering me trying to remember what it was from.

All I really remember was that it was science fiction and there's part which I can only assume was a big part of the plot where there are two guys fighting in a big room on a space ship, and the space ship is about to go into the black hole or wormhole or made up space-thing, then either mid-fight or shortly after one kills the other, the ship goes in and time freezes completely. Then, a very very long time later, it comes out the other end, or there's some kind of rescue effort and they get out and time resumes. I can't remember if the pair are aware that they've just been frozen for a long time, but the fight may have continued regardless, or it could have been the end of the film. Or it could have been the very start. drat my memory.

A weird one that has come up for me recently. It's an Asian horror / thriller that I saw, somewhere between 2007-2009 in a theatre during a film festival (don't remember which..) in Victoria BC Canada. It has a paranormal police division and some kind of spirit / poltergeist that is telling people to commit suicide. I remember a scene with a pool and coaxing the ghost out of the body in it. That's about all I've got. I've been looking through lists of movies, I don't think it was very popular because it's not on any "top Asian horror lists" - I want to say it's Chinese or Korean but even that I'm unsure of at this point.

I can't think how to google this. Nick Nolte (of course it may not be him) is sitting next to a terrified woman and he has a gun to either her head or his own and is talking about how he can kill them both as the bullet will travel through his head then hers (or vice versa).

That scene was in the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall, when the villain holds the gun up to his head with M's head right next to him. Of course, that was Javier Bardem, so I'm not sure that could be confused with Nick Nolte.

FWIW, the Skyfall scene is at the very end of the movie and is almost exactly what you describe.

I saw this movie in the late 90s about a serial killer. There was a grisly murder scene (or a post murder scene?) where it showed a mutilated body while Amazing Grace was playing in the background. I remember finding the scene absolutely terrifying. Unfortunately, looking for it in imdb didn't yield any results. Any ideas? I think it might have taken place in Louisiana or some southern state, but for the life of me, I can't remember any details.

Anyone recall an animated film from the late seventies or eighties in which the hero has to fight a creature which is essentially a shadow? For a while he can't do any damage but eventually begins to open gaping red wounds in the shadow somehow. Had a kind of D & D feel to it.

Speaking of fantasy movies from the 70s/80s, I've got one that I think should be fairly easy to identify. Specifically, what movie was it that featured the character Lord Kramdar (this dude)? I remember catching a bit of this movie on TV once (it seemed like typical cheesy Greek mythology-inspired fare from what I saw), and I've seen the character mentioned a few places around the Internet (including on this very forum), but despite searching every place I could think of, I can't seem seem to find jackshit on the movie itself.

kick back and relax
There's a movie I saw parts of, late at night maybe ten years ago. I want to say very late 70s or early 80s film going by the style. I don't remember a whole lot:

It takes place in some sort of (underground?) secret military research base. There weren't that many people in the base - the main guy, who I think was some sort of agent checking out weird occurrences, a grumpy old maintenance guy, a fat woman who ran the cafeteria or similar, and two scientists, a middle-aged woman and asian man. There might have been others but I don't remember them. They were researching two weird bodies stored in pods, I think they were infected with some sort of virus, or maybe they were being experimented on. They just called them John and Jane Doe. Anyway, stuff starts going wrong (it's a secret military research bases, of course something goes wrong), and the staff in the base start being killed. I think the ways they die were supposed to reflect their greatest fears (and it's funny I remember the death scenes best):

- The cafeteria lady has bee putting mousetraps in this ventilation hole, and eventually it catches something. She reaches in to get the trap, and a huge monster bursts out of the wall and kills her.
- The old guy starts hearing stuff down this hallway, thinks he sees something, and starts shooting at it with his shotgun. All the while, water from the pipes above is dripping on him. I think the main character is running up to him, trying to stop him, or save him, or something. Anyway, when he gets close, the guy explodes. Maybe it was the water? I wasn't sure even then.
- The male scientist I remember better. Something's gone really wrong with the bodies, they may have gotten out of their pods I think, so he goes into the room in a biosuit to find out what's happened. While he's in there, one of the bodies sneaks up on him, it looks all mutated and no longer human. Then he does the whole 'turn around slowly and scream when he sees the thing' and the camera cuts away as it presumably kills him.

The last scene I remember before turning it off is the main character breaking into the main control room with a fire hydrant. The other character, the female scientist, is still in there, and she thinks he's the monster before he gets in. That's all I saw.

There was a either tv movie or tv miniseries about a man who escapes from a chain gang that ends up becoming an author and his wife finds out he was a fugitive from a chain gang.

Now, this is most certainly not the 1932 film "I am a fugitive from a chain gang" nor is it "The man who broke 1,000 chains" starring Val Kilmer.

I swear to god it was called "The 49 (or 39) Rings" because the hero of the story was the semi-detached chain gang member who breaks his own ankle to escape. But according to imdb and google, there's no such thing as "The 49 Rings" or "The Forty-Nine Rings" or any other number from 29-99.

Also this was more than likely made in the 90s.

I'm writing something about Honneponnetje, a Dutch movie that does this and I thought it was a pretty well-worn trope, but I can't think of any other examples. Maybe it's just common in porn?

Hit up tv tropes, then look for the ingenue and the cutie. Follow the specific sub tropes until you find what you are after. I'm not sure where it will take you, but those are the starting points I would use for your search.

It has to be a woman? Cause After Hours is basically precisely this (although substitute insane psycho for rapist) but with a male lead.

e: Lilja 4-ever, an Estonian film, kinda fits

e2: Dogville, but it's set in a village not The Big City so it's kind of an inversion.

Saw a french movie about a year ago. I saw it based on a recommendation by one of the goons in CD so I guess the movie was released not too long ago. I can't remember if I saw it on Netflix or elsewhere.

The show is about a a guy(an artist or someone who sketches) who's trying to find a girl that he saw during a recent trip or something. I thought the movie was rather non-conventional(as a casual movie watcher) since it's as though the camera guys just pointed the camera on some street and letting it run for a full 10mins with nothing much happening. There was also a scene where the camera was just pointed at a couple in a cafe just sitting there and not talking to each other for like 10mins.

It kills me not to remember the title of this movie since I wanna recommend this to my friends, weirdly enough.

Movie 1: Horror movie from the 90's. Group of teens/college students go touring this castle full of witches. Scene I remember the most is one of the dudes threw a knife at a witch and she stopped it mid air, sent it back, and it stuck in his forehead.

Movie 2:Another horror movie late 90's early 00's. This young woman gets a modeling contract so her and her dad go to Europe. Turns out it's a ploy though because the modeling agent needs one more human sacrifice to resurrect Satan or something like that and the girl is his target. Pretty sure Satan won in the end.

Got a question of my own, with not a lot to go on, unfortunately.

I caught the end of a horror film on British cable in the mid-nineties. It took place in a castle or mansion, and I think it was a slasher where the usual handsome twenty-something "teenagers" get killed one by one. I only really remember a dark-haired guy in a memorable red satin shirt or similar, who was the killer and/or also the devil or a demon. I think he was monologueing at the end.

Trying to find an Asian crime film involving two or more hit men competing for some sort of hitman title. A few things I remember:

2) Street shootout with antogonist wearing a bill clinton mask.
3) Some sort of diner scene involving a poison being showcased.
4) Also near the beginning, two competing hitmen are shown passing each other in a train station.
