On the Super Training screen, how can I tell which of the stats I should focus on? Some are easy like shitloads of speed or defense but sometimes it's kinda hard to see what's strongest. Some of them are almost entirely rounded, too.

Also I spent like 3 hours in pokemon village catching Dittos and Zoroarks. vv. Not really explicitly grinding, I just wanted to catch some dittos.

I got a neat scyther off of wondertrade and after a day of breeding, got myself a pretty perfect? 31 in everything except special attack adamant tech scizor.. still level 1 and havent ev trained it, but its got wacuum wave, bullet punch, feint, and night slash on it. I dont know if those moves are special, it learned bp and feint when i traded it today, but my bfs scisor didnt get the option to learn those moves???

After a bit of training, Shinobi is ready to kick rear end. I'm not quite sure if that'll be his final moveset. I may want to put Night Slash on there. Probably get an Expert Belt attached as well.

I can't believe it actually worked! It took like 400 eggs but I got myself a shiny Pinsir! It has max everything but SpDef/Spat too, so it's nearly perfect. Can't wait to train her up and then unleash the blue menace. ...Pinsir is kind of terrifying in Amie though. The generic happy eyes look really weird and the way the teeth move is just...eugh

I'm using Scizor @ Scizorite Adamant, Technician 252 HP 40 Atk 216 SpD Bullet Punch X-Scissor (no Bug Bite yet) Swords Dance Roost It's a singles set though, designed to sweep off of dual screens. There's some choice band sets and stuff too but without superpower they're a lot worse. And yeah for doubles switching Roost for Protect or Brick Break is a pretty good idea. Bullet Punch X-scissor Brick Break Sword's Dance If you want to use mega-scizor Bullet Punch U-turn Brick Break Pursuit If you want to use normal scizor with a Choice Band The first set can be used with a life orb or a lum berry if you don't want to go mega, it's pretty flexible item-wise. The second requires a choice band though.

So how do one-use items work when online battling? They don't just up and vanish forever after the fight, right? Stuff like a Flung Iron Ball or Air Balloon. On that note, what do you think's better for a "Wait, what?" move on TTar? Aerial Ace or Fling? I have been hit by a Flung Iron Ball. I had never seen anything use that prior, and it caught me off guard as hell. Aerial Ace because... fuckin' why does Tyranitar have Aerial Ace?!

If you want to catch people off guard with Tyranitar, build him as a special attacker. His attack stat is better, but he has a surprisingly good special move pool and his spat stat is workable. The advantage here is that nobody expects special tyranitar. I've fought it a few times onlinr and it has hosed me up hard because I was prepared to counter his physical attacks, not the special ones.

dorkasaurus_rex posted:Does a Choice Scarf ALWAYS insure you go first? You could scarf your Ferrothorn (why would you do this) and he'd still probably go last.
