So my CSA game taking 10 years to end the civil war because units take 3 months to get across Montana was a bug?! Do I just download the new BETA? When was it released?

Unless that's not a thing in Kaiserreich (I never played it) Strategic redeployment is a thing but this is definitely a bug. Before this was fixed (has it been fixed?) infantry moved at .8 km/h in friendly territory at peace with perfect infrastructure. A division ordered to march from Berlin to Danzig would be marching for over 2 months during peacetime with nothing interdicting their movement. Armored and motorized units can move at a blistering .9 to 1.5 km/h depending on terrain.

I played plenty of Beta 2 and I think the highest speed my ARM divs reached was about 5 or 6 km/h. Only went down to 0.8 in jungles and mountains and in other terrain they went at least 2 km/h. By the way, increasing the Mj General army size was drat genius, no more running out of them or Lt Generals.

Alright goons, I could use some help with the Divided We Stand Mexican states! Here's what I've drawn up so far: These are based on an 1860 map, an 1863 map, a modern map, and a couple of alt-history maps I found doing a google image search. I have only a passing knowledge of Mexico (things like holidays, major cities, what Cinco De Mayo is all about, etc) and I'm sure this proposal is offensive to at least someone. I'd like to rectify that before I start, so if anyone has any suggestions before I begin making flag graphics and nation files, now's the time to voice them!

Like after you invent Manifest Destiny, perhaps majority Yanqui California can get "Glory of the Golden State", which grants them cores on Baja California, while majority Mexicano Baja California can get "Viva California!", which grants them cores on California and Jefferson. Really it would be pretty nice to see a lot of new decisions and events. (Actually I offered to help with this in my last post about this, if you didn't see it). It'd be nice to have a bunch of decisions to form sub-USA regional entities, like the North German Federation decision for Prussia. I'll have a release of DWS here in the thread hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Events, like Yucatan's Caste War, would be pretty great. There's lots of room for all sorts of events in a Balkanized North America. Feel free to use your discretion and imagination!

The way I'd do it is to have an event (or several) pop up that increases the militancy and consciousness among Mayan pops in certain provinces. Sort of like a mini American Civil War. Then if it reaches high enough, a Maya state will split off from Yucatan and drag Yucatan into a war. ExtraNoise posted:I am absolute rubbish when it comes to writing events. Other good options are the Iberian nations (Portugal, Castile, maybe Aragon?), for a colonial game, or the Ottomans, for a 'conquer everyone, everywhere, forever' game.

Bohemia is pretty good since while you are surrounded by big scary nations, if you can jump on Hungary or Poland while they are weak or alongside a coalition, you can get real mean real quick. It's way harder than France but it teaches you to be patient better I feel.

Bohemia makes me miss how in EU3 you could ally with Poland or Hungary, use them to force a PU on the other, and then use the one you just forced a PU on to force a PU on your original ally for eventual cores on all of central Europe while also being the loving emperor. (Also a choice is doing it as Poland for the extra Lithuania if you don't want to be emperor.) The whole "no one starts with an heir" thing can be convenient.

If you ally Spain and focus on trade and colonization, you can build up an incredibly profitable trade empire as Portugal. The only danger is if Spain decides to get into recurrent wars with France, since your manpower and force limit will basically never be high enough to be able to beat them back. Edit: you know, I've always wondered how in the 16th century tiny Portugal was able to dominate trade halfway across the world. Even that early they must have had comparatively good ships and guns. They did, and they mostly had a monopoly on trade routes, given they were the ones to discover a way across the Horn of Africa and from there to Asia. One of the things I find most frustrating in the way the game develops is that the Portuguese AI rarely establishes trade posts or bases in the east.

As was mentioned prior, the Republic of Rio Bravo should be renamed to the Republic of Rio Grande. If you want to create conflict, you could give Rio Grande cores on southern Texas because it did claim the land historically. Otherwise, the divisions look fine.
