Oo coat chat! I love that white one. My current favourite is a suede trench with a rabbit fur collar that I found at value village. It's heavy as gently caress and super warm. I also have a nice military style double breasted one with a swing skirt in black wool/cashmere, but I've got a bit too fat for it this fall, so I won't be able to wear it til I've been lifting for a bit and lost the excess wobbly poo poo. I got depressed about being unemployed and in immigration limbo and stopped moving for a few months. When I'm not unemployed I'm a broadcast and theatre technician and I love that work so when my residency comes through I will be once again living the dream until I die from a stroke on a catwalk or something.

My mom used to dry clean her work clothes. Now that I have a job I'm like HOW, although she was a manager type and I'm a grocery store type until I can miraculously escape minimum wage so my work clothes get messed up the second I arrive. Also my work "uniform" is a men's large shirt because the store owner cannot be arsed to order anything, I am jealous of those high end stores that have like nice little ties and poo poo.

http://www.asos.com/au/ASOS/ASOS-Pr...rt=-1&clr=Black something like this is pretty trendy but also classic. you can wear it with pretty much anything, jeans connies and a hoodie, jeans flats and a cardigan, heels and a dress, whatevs asos stuff you have to research to make sure it wasn't made by slave labour, but if you look for a similar garment on ebay and buy it second hand you aren't putting money into that trade and you're encouraging the second-hand fashion market!

for real: dry clean only is code for 'im fancy and a lie'. dry cleaning is not dry, and most of the poo poo you bring into a drycleaners gets soaked then spot-cleaned by hand, then chucked in the machine to get tossed around with all the other poo poo. things to take to the drycleaner: pillows if you have a shitload of them and you have a massive party and they all get ruined at the same time all your blankets and doonas at the end of winter leather or suede if you managed to stink it up so badly that you can't spot-clean it acceptably a fabulous expensive dress you don't trust yourself with a fabulous vintage velvet jacket you don't trust yourself with everything else you handwash you lazy bastards
