that spell and also maelstorm just are so much fun to use. Standing just outside of aggro range to a bunch of goblins or whatever and just cast maelstorm into the middle of them; I love watching them trying to run and still getting sucked up and shot out the top of the tornado.

Maelstrom is pretty good, but it has the negative side effect of making you blind. You the player, not your character. Never give pawns maelstrom.

Perhaps, but it's far more :black101: to jump to avoid his hand, then latch back on to his face and give him a Hundred Kisses.

This is probably the worst thing about pawn mages. They don't let you remove the helmet which means killing the cyclops takes so much longer.

As an aside, three B'z songs went up for Rocksmith last week. I was deeply saddened that Into Free wasn't one of them.

Just beat Daimon for the second time. I think I am done with Bitterblack for a while. Now it is time to go be hideously overpowered for the main quest and post game.

Also, the Fallen City area can go gently caress right off. I ran through the last few rooms

Yeah, this is the first action game to get magic right. It's so awesome to see final fantasy-style awesome visuals, but real-time.

I started laughing so hard after casting Bolide for the first time that I seriously couldn't breathe. I always, always, always play magic-using classes in any game that lets me and this game basically perfectly nailed exactly why. Hell, I don't know if I've seen such satisfying magic effects in a game ever before.

When I first started Dragon's Dogma I thought playing a magic vocation would be "missing the point," since the melee was so fun. But I'm honestly impressed at how fun Capcom managed to make magic and archery, too.

One thing I'd like if they'd add in a sequel is some quick melee magic. That cast times are long makes a pack of small and quick enemies really tough to kill, so it'd be nice if they added a spell like Brontide but not poo poo.

I wasn't able to find anything more detailed than Genocyber's info, but the DD wiki has great maps.

Starting from Bitterblack Isle, head to Garden of Ignominy, then Duskmoon Tower.

Go downstairs and to the east into the Ward of Regret and make your way to Midnight Helix.

This is the hardest part, IMO - you've got to make it up to the top of the tower while dodging Gargoyles and fireballs. I seemed to get lucky and the Gargoyles didn't bother me except when I was on the side platforms, but keep an eye out. At the top is the Void Key.

Go back to Duskmoon Tower, and the north door downstairs can now be opened w/the key. This leads to Vault of Defiled Truth.

Sprint through there to the Gutter of Misery, then to Warrior's Respite.

In there you'll find the Moonbeam Gem, which you need for the door to the ring's chest.

Grab it, head back to Duskmoon Tower, head downstairs yet again, and the door you want to open is this one.

I don't much care for your negative attitude, mister.
Picked the game back up since they put the whole big pile up for free(-ish, if you have PS+ anyway).

Been spending all my time making my pawn the best pawn she can be.
Her name is Wren, she's a Level 103 Mage pawn with 100% immunity to every status effect except 50~95% on the atk/def/mag/magdef downs and no wet/oil. She also has a passive regen aura.
Spells: High Comestion/High Frigor/High Levin/High Anodyne/High Halidom/Holy Affinity
My PSN is "R7-PS" if you want to take her on adventures.

Probably because he used it on the Hydra. If you cut off all the heads at once, it will slump to the ground and take way more damage from attacks.

So I just -actually- beat the game. What a disappointing boss fight. What a strangely satifying ending. Except for the fact that nothing explains how Gran Soren got patched up like nothing ever happened. Also kind of weirded out that my love interest suddenly changed for the final cutscene from who it was at the Dragon Fight.

I'm still kind of disappointed that 90% of the game amounted to padding, but the rest of the game was so enjoyable that I managed to overlook it without much thought. :v:

Well since you're now God, I don't think it'd difficult to just magically fix Gran Soren. Also yeah that happens if you reach max affinity with someone else/talk to someone else you have max affinity with before finishing the game.

That makes no sense. It changed from Valmiro to Aelinore. Aelinore's rescue from the Blighted Manse was the last thing I did before fighting the Dragon and after that, by that point both of them had vanished from the game as result of their quests, so I couldn't have talked to Aelinore between the fight with the Dragon and the fight with the Seneschal.

You can either talk to a character who you have max affinity with before fighting the dragon to choose them as your interest or raise a character's affinity to maximum. Both ways should work but you all know the Arisen's one true love is Feste.

Thanks a ton for this, helping my new character immensely. I actually managed to do it at level 11 with a bit of luck and patience. Just make sure you have a decent supply of health/stamina curatives going in, and make sure to gather a crapload at duskmoon tower, as there are a ton of herbs and rabbits and stuff with no enemies to bug you. You can stock up well there for the bitch that is midnight helix. Man, getting down was tricky. I just fell down bridge to bridge until I hit the floor, chugging curatives the whole time. Pretty nerve wracking.

But now I have an awesome ring that gets me mad discipline so, worth it. This will definitely help level vocations without leveling my character, so it'll be that much easier to get the stat growth I want, if I decide to care about that.

I still don't fully "get" DP but that ring really is amazing for quick vocation ranks. On one run from Gran Soren back to Cassardis got me from 1-5 in Warrior just by cow tipping and goblin bashing, which came in handy for not leveling since I'm trying to be magey/shooty.
