Saw some kid walking around school with a scout regiment hoody. At that very moment I realized why I had a nagging feeling not to get one even though I kinda wanted one. You're wearing the icon of probably one of the most bitch "special ops" task forces I've ever seen in fiction. Ever. Oh my god, giant people who look retarded, it's like every time they see one they're looking deep into the eyes of Cthulhu for the first time, like the 100th time they've seen a Titan up close. I'd give this show a 6 out of ten so far which is just above average. But it has the advantage of a seal of infectious approval. Meaning, despite how poo poo it can be sometimes the identity of the female Titan is only a real mystery to anyone because she stayed back with the MP, other wise with her behavior, fighting stance... The female Titan looks exactly like her, I mean didn't the cold blue eyes and arched nose give it away? For me her simply opting out of the scouts gave her away as soon as they revealed there were other human titans. it doesn't matter. For whatever reason this show isn't exactly great it terms of how it was made. But holy poo poo you couldn't stop me from watching. Not to mention the art is beautiful. Anime is love hate even if you like it I guess.

I agree that the anime is a little over hyped. I don't recall anyone in the scout regiment getting paralyzed with fear by titans though. They all seemed to be pretty fearless, even when they were facing the completely unpredictable and crazy dangerous female titan.

I was lucky enough to see the AoT abridged premier at Youmacon. It really is an experience to be see this on a massive screen in a room with over a hundred easily entertained otaku. TFS has really improved on their joke quality. Early TFS was mostly meme spouting, and now they do some decent word play and more original jokes than references. My iPod wont let me scroll down to see/quote posts, so to whomever is waiting to watch the Hellsing Abridged series; you can just read the manga. Hellsing U is literally just the manga. Bringing this back to AoT, anyone have any theories on who the other titans may be (if anything has been revealed in the comics, please don't give any hints)? We know there are at least two more self aware titans, but I wouldn't be surprised if more titans get introduced. I have a sneaking suspicion that Erwin may be a titan solely because of his reaction to the fight between Erin and the Female titan in the season finale. He isn't phased at all.

The only other person who could probably lead the Corps like Erwin would be Levi. For better or worse, where anyone else might be paralyzed with indecision, Erwin would gladly through people into the breach to fight the Titans. Which is not to say he doesn't care about the lives of the people in the Corps, just that if anyone has to have the burden of leading the Corps, and constantly sending people out to die in a very difficult battle, it might as well be him. Half his stoicism I think is a coping mechanism. He probably couldn't do the job at all if he couldn't learn the concept of acceptable losses in this fight. No matter what, people are going to die fighting Titans, and he has to be the one to make the tough decisions.

In non-abridged chat, I had a pretty hard time believing that freckles girl's voice actress was also the one who voice Hatsune Miku. It wasn't too hard to believe that the short-haired blonde scout was voiced by the Kagamines' voice actress, though, since she kind of sounds like Len.

I dunno how that would work... I don't think you can blow off limbs or anything in the 3ds version right? The only way In my opinion that an attack on titan game would work is if you had the titans with full soft body physics, like that shoot gman minigame only way more intricate and all around better with the soft body physics. And some kind of algorithm that would regenerate limbs and govern movement on the fly like euphoria. The gameplay would boil down to controlling massive amounts of titans by delimbing them and such while picking perfect times to perform a fatal blow. Multiplayer would be insane, the amount of teamwork they could have required for corralling titans. loving insane multiplayer that would be. Sounds expensive though. In Ninja Gaiden II you could lop the limbs off of enemies and they'd change their fighting style accordingly. They'd even suicide bomb you if they were near death. Make some gargantuan enemies, throw in a Bionic Commando/Spider-Man type grappling hook thing, and you might have something decent.

Just get Platinum to do it using the Metal Gear Rising engine. Add the 3DMG then basically don't change anything else. It'll be awesome.

We see them cutting off/blowing off limbs, trying to line up a good shot. At 0:55 you can see a titan getting up after having his hand sliced off, during which time the player reloads his swords. At 1:25 one player cuts off his leg, and another tries to attack the titan. At 1:35 we can see them trying to fight Annie, and just when one of them starts to line up his attack, she turns around and runs straight at him. At 2:33 a titan has fallen on his knees, and the player's moving around to get a good shot. At 2:36, lots of players attack a titan from the front and cuts off his limbs, and one approaches from the back to cut its neck. Then when they start using other weapons, we see them blowing up their faces to stun them, blowing off crawling titans' arms, throwing bombs at their feet, planting mines, etc.

About half the series has been released on bluray - are there any comparisons on how the redone animation looks? The only info I can find only covers the first 4 eps. Also, my god, this cover. It looks like Reiner just hipchecked Annie out of the frame, and she doesn't even care.
