I admit to sticking a Black Widow on many classes I shouldn't have. By that I mean "all of them except Vanguard" because a 200%+ cooldown Vanguard is batshit insanity that shouldn't be hosed with.

Also I've platted both ME2 & 3, and suppose I will get around to 1 eventually but it hurts :shepicide:

I showed some friends vanguard pinball in the combat simulator. They kept saying "what the gently caress is going on? How do you keep track of this poo poo? I can't see anything except blur!"

A properly specced Vanguard's charge is ready to go again before the Nova animation is finished :colbert:

So, I just finally started playing ME3 now I've got a decent laptop. I saw the thing in the OP about timed missions running out if you do Tuchanka (I'd have hosed that up had the game not crashed while loading), but not any others. Is that the only time when I need to tackle my sidequests in a certain order? I'd rather not do the ME2 thing of getting to the end and realising I left my sidequests too late and had to go back four hours. Digging gets spoilery really fast, and I don't want to accidentally find everyone dead because I didn't realise I had to do a certain missions sooner rather than later or put something off until I was done with everything else.

Please, don't be my neighbor.
As a general rule, just take care of all currently available sidequests and get all open clusters to 100% poo poo retrieved (and turned in, if possible (it won't always be, because sometimes you can get stuff from those clusters before the dudes you need to give them to are on the Citadel)) before doing any missions marked "Priority."

This. In spite of the name, the plot will not advance until you do them, so you may do them at your leisure. Any side missions on "target" planets (like Tuchanka) should be done before the main missions for best outcomes.

The only timed side mission I can remember is Grissom Academy. Once you get the prompt for it, you can do up to 3 other missions before it becomes permanently unavailable, and it does come up pretty early.

Yeah, when I played the game on release, I thought "oh, Priority! I guess that must mean the mission is a Priority!" and no.

Supposedly Tuchanka: Bomb is "timed". If there are others, I don't know them off the top of my head.

Yeah, that bomb mission is timed. Wait too long and it'll blow and destroy the turian-krogan alliance.

Origin has a sale now, and I just found out there's an upgrade pack for ME3 that gives you all the Deluxe Edition stuff. Shepard's finally gonna get herself that hoodie.

If you sabotage the cure and "forget" about the bomb, Wrex will call you out and accuse you of doing it to kill the Krogan.

Also you can use Gibbed to give yourself that hoodie.

And of course, some missions aren't timed, but will expire if you go ahead with the next Priority mission. Like the quarian/geth side missions after you do Priority: Rannoch.

Go for it, it's great. Although having just finished ME3, I'd advise just alt-f4ing five minutes from the end.

Even Me3 is mostly pretty good aside from the dreadful ending. I even enjoyed Kai Leng's dumbass.

I'd kill for an overhaul mod which gives Me3's gameplay for Me1 and 2 though. 3's gameplay is by far the best.

I was thinking of grabbing the DLC since finishing the game left me kind of wanting a whole lot more. Is all of it except From Ashes still bioware store only? As much as I loved it, between the prices and having to deal with that piece of poo poo, I'm not really sure I wouldn't rather go and play some of my steam sale haul or something instead.

AFAIK you can buy all ME3 DLC from within the Origin client but you still need to buy the lovely Bioware points and I think you can also do that in the Origin client now.
So while you don't have to go through the horrors that is the Bioware Social site system, you'll still be scammed with the Bioware Funbux and double so because they're never, ever on sale you'll have to shell out much more for all the DLC than the base game costs.

Yeah, each bit is basically as much as I paid for the game as a whole. I already bought AC4 this month though, so it's hard to justify buying that stuff on my student budget, no matter how much I want it.

And of course it's not like you can get the points in convenient amounts either.

I've always been able buy to the exact amount of points I needed for a DLC. Of course, I only buy mission DLCs, that's probably not the case with the smaller stuff like gun packs and that's where they screw you. Fortunately, I never touch that stuff. But either way, it's dumb.

Just buy Citadel. It really is the only thing you need. Leviathan is only worth it for expanding on an already strange ending, and Omega is just fighting with Aria in... Omega. Citadel, on the other hand, is everything it needed to be after the original ending.

Though I didn't fly into a rage about the endings, I didn't like them ether. But, they did bring with them my favourite bit of music in the series - an end, once and for all - which has ended up at the very top of my short list of 'awesome video game songs to listen to on the bus to work'.

Seeing so many posts again has got me clamouring for one more run. Anyone suggest any good gimmicks? I've done a male and female run of every class in 2 and 3, and weaponless insanity for both now (drat you magimix for suggesting it!). Need a fun change of gameplay.

Basically Leviathan is back-story, Omega is combat, and Citadel is...awesome. If you like the combat in 3 and don't mind the price pick up Omega. It's a good 2 hours of shootin' dudes.

If you're broke and can only get 1 then get Citadel.

1 contains Bring Down the Sky, 2 contains everything (even that collector Blackhole gun) and 3 is just base game. Since it's new(est) they want you to shell out for DLC.

Is there a copy on youtube? I'm a sucker for soundtracks, but I literally alt-f4ed and decided that the ending in my head where everyone survives and is happy and then everyone bought Shepard the drinks they promised was the correct one, so I don't know what it is.

yeah just search on Youtube for "an ending once and for all"

Citadel is probably the best value and has a bunch of cool character stuff, but is very light-hearted and comic. If you like your experience a bit more serious and dramatic you might prefer to go for Leviathan if you can't get both. I'd skip Omega; it doesn't add anything story-wise, and while the gameplay is fun the main game already has like 30 hours of it.
