What he never mentions of course (and I know you were being sarcastic) is that he became rich and famous largely by benefit of knowing Jimmy Kimmel. This isn't to say Adam's not capable of being funny, but he was struggling pretty bad before he started doing radio with Jimmy, to hear him tell it.

And if Jimmy hadn't met Kevin and Bean he wouldn't be where he is today. While I don't entirely disagree with you there's probably one of those "big break" moments in every successful show biz person's career and I don't think its fair to just flat out say "if X never happened then they would never be Y". Maybe if Adam hadn't met Jimmy he would have made it on his own, maybe he wouldn't. Maybe he'd be successful in some other way because I don't think you can disagree with the fact that Adam does work really hard for his money. Though in Adam's world since he accomplished something, everybody who can't do the same is either stupid or lazy.

Right, I understand that everybody needs a break to make it in life (especially so in entertainment), I just find it odd that Adam doesn't understand given how things worked out for him.

I know I just said it but the need to not record at hooters. The sound is horrible and the background noise is incredibly distracting. It seems kinda low rent to hear people who aren't there for the podcast talking in the background.

Also I'm bryan and I'm going to read the questions from the audience in order to justify my being on the show. Couldn't possibly let them ask the questions themselves, that would just be anarchy.

Performing at Hooters seems like the kind of gig that's a punchline to a comedian talking about how terrible going on the road used to be. "Yeah, I started out having to do sets at Hooters, it was awful..."

or dont whatever

So is it a joke now that people like DAG and Jo Koy seem less than enthused about doing the same bit every time they're on or is Adam just not aware enough to know? Considering how often he rehashes old stories/rants constantly I can't figure out if he thinks it is fresh each time or not.

I do laugh anytime either happen however, but it is because I think about his old, "comedy factory not warehouse" rant.

What percentage of people that buy his book do you think will actually finish reading it cover to cover?
If it cracked 50%, I would be surprised.

I think about this every time The Floaters or Teddy Pendergrass come up on the show. Does Adam not realize Dag is clearly really tired of it? Maybe. Maybe people still really want to hear that bit and directly ask for it on twitter.

I'm not a Bryan hater but I wouldn't buy it because I think the book will be really sappy and "inspirational".

It's obvious that whenever a guest comes on and does a funny bit it's :regd08: from then on.

Look at Stone Cold Steve Austin. He did a funny PSA about airport security and the very next appearance he had to do another one even though he obviously didn't want to do it. But I guarantee every time he's on, Adam will have him do another PSA.

It is equally likely that Adam is just so cynical that he knows he can just do the same poo poo over and over again and the retards who make up a big part of his listenership will gobble it up every time.

Lasagna Miracle
Everyone is a little right about why he has DAG and Jo do the same poo poo every appearance. How, I think the biggest reason is simply because Adam finds jt funny, and he's filling time. Every single skit they do is funny, but they let it run about 3 or 4 minutes too long most of the time. Today's Floaters skit is a prime example of that.

I just don't think he cares that much about the podcast. It's just a means to selling Mangria and live shows. The other day he played a clip from his old radio show and you could just tell from his voice how much more he was into that than the podcast.

Once in awhile you get the old Adam back for a show, usually when he's got an interesting guest or someone he wants to impress. But otherwise he treats it like a chore and it shows. No enthusiasm from him, no preparation, no effort. Just shows up and tries to kill the hour and a half with whatever is easiest. Filling time with minute long intros and hack segments like Baldywood. Hell, he doesn't even bother showing up on time for the Adam & Drew Show anymore and instead of waiting, just has Drew start without him. And then it's just him trying to get out of the studio as quick as possible.

So I think there are a lot of theories as to why the show isn't that good anymore from his political views to bad booking. But I really think it comes down to him just not wanting to be there and it showing.

Bryan has 2 accomplishments in life:

1. Getting a minimum wage job at a radio station and sucking up to Adam enough that he carried him to a decent career.
2. Surviving a brain tumor (thanks to Adam)

I want to read it out of sheer curiosity over how he will manage to fill a whole book, but there is no way I'm paying for it new. I'll wait till it shows up used on amazon for $3 (two weeks)

I think you are talking about when Adam was telling someone involved in his nascent pilot (maybe someone with the relevant network) that Bryan was no longer going to be able to work on it. (And he breaks up doing that)

Yeah, I know. There are other reasons to unsubscribe from Dr. Drew's podcast. To be fair to me, I don't listen to the main Carolla podcast very often anymore either and the first boner pill ad definitely made me cut down even more. Now I only listen to the main podcast if you guys suggest an episode, or if it's a guest I know will make it tolerable.

Such a fall from grace. I probably should just stop listening to the network altogether and listen to repeats of Loveline instead.

It's the Penn's Sunday School & This Week With Larry Miller network as far as I'm concerned!

Haven't heard the ads for psychics but I hadn't listened to Drew's show in a couple months until yesterday. This was just a random episode I had on there since my mp3 player didn't sync up right and I needed something to listen to at work.

Thank god I keep a manual backlog of Hardcore History on there.

I'm pretty much the same way. I haven't listened to the show in a couple months and keep up with the thread for that occasional good episode recommendation or to find out if something shocking happens. I'm not surprised that they're shilling boner pills and psychics, it all started with that Lumosity thing and Adam stating how much he takes coconut extract to make him smarter, what a crock of poo poo. I miss Mangrate, he seemed like he genuinely liked that product so it didn't make the show feel so soulless.
