Either way it just transfers the liability of there remaining amounts on their contracts to where you are liable.

Can anyone think of a reason why you couldn't sue AT&T over unlocking an iPhone? I canceled my service, paid the ETF and it's now been 20 days since I put in my unlock request with no resolution from AT&T. Apparently they changed their policies in September and all unlock requests have to go to some mythical department that is only reachable via their ticketing system. I've had 3 tickets escalate up to them and no one's contacting me back. Helpdesks and escalation managers just keep saying there's nothing else they can do. The initial request was supposed to take 7 days max and they've since sent up two more requests that shouldn't have taken more than 72 hours each. I think there's a glitch somewhere, but no one seems interested in figuring out the problem. Since AT&T is essentially depriving me of my phone, why not sue them for the value. Worst case scenario I'm out 76 bucks in magistrate court.

I booked the wrong night on a cyber monday promotion and they flat out would not refund or change the reservation. One well worded email to several executives and the CEO later, I got a call from Bill Marriott's office at 8am the next morning. Taken care of instantly. I don't know if this would work in your scenario, but I've done it a few times with 100% success.

This question is typically beyond anything a self identified retail worker is allowed to touch. As a matter of fact, if a customer even mentions litigation, we're supposed to cease all contact with them and direct them to their legal council to contact AT&T through the appropriate channels.

The new chairman of the FCC strongly suggested that carriers unlock phones at contract end but I'm not sure it's required. I know they aren't legally required to unlock my phone but its their policy to unlock it as long as you meet certain requirements. So it all depends on the judge ruling whether company policy is enforceable in court. I'm not really sure what the answer there is. Odd thing is, at one point AT&T tried to shift blame and transferred me to AppleCare who told me they couldn't see a lock on the phone. Do the unlock codes come from Apple or AT&T? This just in, AT&T will discount your (mobile share only) plan by $15 when you do NEXT or bring your own device. Basically accounting for the difference for not having to subsidize your device. The new plans for Next are great and I am drat excited so far. Next now looks like a legit deal. Thermopyle posted:Thanks. Anything under 5 just customer service and no activation fees. 5+ you can get a small 8% discount. 10+ you can have more than 10 lines on certain mobile share. Overall not much, but you get more support, flexibility and ATT tends to treat business customers like gold.

It looks like you can't add lines to old Family Plans without converting to Mobile Share now? Doing some rough math, it'd probably be a little more to switch over, but with more minutes and data available to everyone. However, that doesn't include taxes or my current 20% FAN discount. How much does the FAN discount apply to in Mobile Share plans? Any hidden caveats to switching over? Thanks.

You should be able to add lines to your family plan still. Unless you have 5 lines already in which case you've hit the limit on lines allowed on that plan. Online it can be a little confusing sometimes. Go into a store and talk to a rep if need be.

I thought the limit was six, not five. So adding another line is beyond the limit, that's why it's kicking us over. Thanks. I'm definitely assuming that adding a sixth and switching to Mobile Share would be a better deal than keeping our current Family Plan and then setting up an independent account for the other line.
