Are there any GApps packages for CM11 that have the Photosphere and stock camera? I know previous GApps used to have two packages, but I can't find the optional gallery/photosphere for CM11.

I looked at the addon.d files and it appears everything is there. I'll let you know the next time I flash.

God having CM back is so nice. I've missed the tablet-style notification pull down (swapped, so quick settings are on the left), stock messaging easy reply notifications, not having to use lightflow to setup LEDs, the circle battery, activity flashers on the notification bar, custom quick settings, not having to long-press quick settings, and my search soft menu button. So many little things just make it so great. I want to like Hangouts, I really do, but CyanogenMod's custom reply popup for stock messaging is just too drat good.

Could someone please elaborate on the horribly vague answers found here: androidforums.com/galaxy-y-all-things-root/448968-installation-aborted-rooting.html I'm using the file from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36352803 For a Samsung GT-S5360L. I have a friend who has a rooted nexus 10, he ran the kitkat ota and it installed via twrp but its now stuck in a bootloop. After a bit of googling apparently you arent meant to use custom recovery? Which is wierd because i've never had a problem doing that on my old nexus 7, it just usualy rolls back to the standard recovery. Is the only option to flash stock? I've already tried clearing cache and davlik.

You could try removing the -w flag from the batch file to retain user data.

My nexus 5 was working fine, rooted, unlocked, stock, but the signal kept dropping after the 4.4.2 update. I decided to do the built in factory resting under device settings backup and restore. The phone rebooted and got stuck on erasing for about an hour. I powered off the device and it went back to the erasing screen. I tried a manual flash of the original stock firmware from google but I get an error FAILED (remote: flash write failure). I tried flashing a custom recovery and flashing a ROM and it failed as well. I basically tried everything, fix permissions, format cache, erase cache, nothing helped. Worst part is I bought the phone off a guy at work and I'm worried about google transferring the warranty to me. Any suggestions?

Yes, I can get into fastboot, thats where I have tried flashing the stock firmware which failed. I could only temporarily boot the custom recovery since flashing failed. Is there a firmware restore tool like odin? Anyone ever heard of google transferring warranties between accounts?

You'll need to have the original purchaser call them. I've done it before a few times. However, I can help you. If you want, we can even do a hangout and work on it. I'm ericcorp AT gmail DOT com if you want to chat right now (I have a few minutes on lunch) and I bet we can sort it out.

Ended up flashing the factory image, which is still 4.4 and adb sideloading 4.4.2 Still I thought that installing an ota with root and custom recovery wasnt a problem with nexuses, although I just realised i'd removed supersu on my nexus7 because the sky go app doesnt work on rooted devices. So that might be why my otas have worked.

Before rebooting and installing the OTA, you have to go into SuperSU and have it remove itself. Then make sure you have the latest SuperSU zip and flash it after flashing the OTA.

I installed 4.4 on my Verizon branded Galaxy Nexus using ShinyROM or something - it was a clean/stock install, no CM11. The phone runs better than it did when I first got it. It's been stable for a week now without any crashes. I would suggest it to anyone looking to get some more life out of their Galaxy Nexus. I got it here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/36706-romaosp12813-shiny-rom-ota-like-stock-android-441-kot49e/

I'm also finding 4.4 to be a huge improvement on performance, I'm still using a Nexus S and CM11 has made it usable again. I've not encountered any Nightly problems as I expected, but I'm just waiting for the inevitable. Still, anyone who's old phone is chugging along hopelessly, dig through for a CyanogenMod version of 4.4 and see what's what.

For example, Xposed will cause an OTA to fail. SuperSU does not need to be uninstalled however does get deactivated as previously mentioned. I usually have a directory with Xposed, SuperSU, and the Xposed disabler zips for this reason. I also noticed I couldn't just install the OTAs, I had to sideload them. I may have just been loving something up and fixed it before sideloading.

The PA GApps package does in fact do proper addon.d now. Unfortunately the 4.4.2 update they released for it today deletes the stock messaging app (rather than just adding hangouts). What the gently caress? On that note: I truly despise XDA and it's entire community. Frozen Peach fucked around with this message at 18:03 on Dec 12, 2013 |

After downloading about 4 different rogers roms for my phone I realized something better must be out there if you ever gently caress up your phone and need to reflash. Kies should act like iTunes and allow an option to nuke and restore if need be. Having to find roms on such illustrious sites such as mega.com and such blows poo poo. Rogers and the like should also just host their roms to make this easier. Rant done!

Att s3. I'm running cm10.1 stable. I see there's a 10.2 stable now. Do I need to update radio and other firmware like I had to going from 10 to 10.1? Cm wiki mentions 10.1 needs a >ICS boot loader but nothing about 10.2. Edit someone ITT recommended me to http://invisiblek.org/d2firmware.html for firmware once for 10.1 and I'm current according to that site but I don't know if it's still maintained. Site is still as hosed up ugly as it was before. Also anyone know if flash player runs good on 10.2? It 90% does on 10.1. Which 4.4.2 ROMs are people using for their GS3's on sprint that are not CM based ROMs? Or am I doing it wrong? I have been running stock rooted for a wile now and only this morning did I get the notification for the new OTA. I figure that if the stock OTA has issues anyways, I might as well try to do something more drastic and flash up to the newest version of android, been waiting way too long to get out of 4.1.2, but have been nervous to 1) Brick the phone, or 2) Have a bunch of problems with hardware features (camera, data, screen rotation, etc)
