In re: Big Bang Theory, I thought the kid from Roseanne and Penny have hooked up and broke up like ten times by now? And isn't their relationship pretty much the only good thing about the show? Of the episodes I've watched (not many) those two were the only ones I didn't want to brutally murder with an axe.

No, they have pretty much the worst chemistry of any couple on television (along with Ann and Tom on P&R, thank God that's over). Any attraction or romance between them never becomes believable, not even for a second.

And now we're in season 9 and they still tease that same unresolved tension and it's basically like a death march. You mean Robin and Ted? Yeah, that's gotta be one of the most painful will they won't they bits in recent memory.

I'm not really a horror person, but my friend gave me access to his Netflix and American Horror Story was the first recommendation, so I figured, why not? This is legitimately good TV, unlike another cable TV show starring a 90s leading man (I'm looking at you, Falling Skies).

I've seen it, and yeah that would fit perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion. Just watched the first episode of Reaper and it's a bit jokier than I was hoping for but it's not bad.

Still working my way through S1 of Arrow. Still pretty good but I've got to be honest, I find Ollie's family really annoying in a way I'm pretty sure the writers aren't intending. I get that a big part of this as a very Nolan/Batman Begins-esque look at Ollie becoming the Green Arrow is that tension of the double life and how his self-appointed mission conflicts with his home life, but even without the vigilantism I'm not sure I wouldn't be making every excuse I could to duck out of social functions with them either.

Yeah Ollie's family dynamic is a bit rough in season one (I remember Thea in particular bugging me in several episodes because they didn't seem to know what to do with her) but unless you're just outright hating the show then just stick with it. I can't really say at what point things get better because it's mostly story spoilers, but eventually things really pick up and the show just takes off from there. With the notable exception of the Huntress arc, which I think everybody agrees was a really weak couple of episodes. Like I said though if you're at least somewhat enjoying the show then power through to the season finale, and know that season 2 has been firing on all cylinders so far and has had like 3-4 of the best episodes the show's ever done.

The Master is awesome, and Buffy dying the first time is something important for later.Then again I quite like most of the episodes of season 1, it has some of my favorite MOTW episodes of the whole show, like Witch, Nightmares, and Out of Mind Out of Sight.

Sexbots has so far been the best episode at world building and having an interesting plot. That bright light gives me hope that later episodes will also take advantage of the setting. The best comparison I've heard of AH is that it has the opposite problem of SHIELD. AH has great characters with a meh world so far, while SHIELD has an interesting world with meh characters.

Hannibal is the grossest show I've seen. In terms of gore it surpasses all the Hannibal movies. How is this on network tv again? And still no breasts or swearing allowed? There are some truly disturbing visuals that make you want to vomit. e: also you know you watch way too much TV when you know it's filmed in Canada because you recognize more than 1 Canadian actor. e2: holy poo poo Eddie Izzard doing his Anthony Hopkins impression. It's sterile, disconnected, and dreamlike. The way it's shot has a weird way of disconnecting you from what's actually going on. You see the killers' creations as they intend, as art, instead of the horrors they actually are. Hannibal is a really good show.

It is pretty hilarious though how they can show human beings whose bodies have been horribly dismembered, as long as you can't see any of the bodies' genitals. Because then it'd be inappropriate for children/TV and would cause the end of our society. For me there were only a few scenes that really stood out as gross. Most were just so bizarre and unreal (in a good way) that I was instantly disconnected and didn't actually think about the fact that I just saw a person who had the top half of their head popped back like a Pez dispenser until later. I think the garden was the one that got to me the most, specifically because it wasn't just some gore or blood but pure nightmare fuel. Hannibal is a really good show. It wasn't much of a performer last year, but NBC gave it its second season because it was a cheap international co-production, a critical jewel in the crown (see: Homicide, Friday Night Lights) and possibly because there were other cable/streaming networks waiting in the wings to pick it up the second NBC dropped it. My guess? It goes to summer to stay out of the ratings conversation.

I was never a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I enjoyed some of the characters, but overall the show never grabbed me (maybe/probably because I was never a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar.) However, I do think it's worth watching through to fully appreciate Angel, which is fantastic.

It's going to take me a while to watch more Hannibal because the mushroom garden was...pretty traumatic. In general, traumatic is a good description of Hannibal. It is not a happy show.

So after hearing how Revolution S2 is actually at least decent television, I picked up where I left off a few episodes into the second half of S1 (after the midseason break) and I think it really picked up (considering they were lurching around for the first ten episodes) and really opened up the larger world.

You can manage watching Angel without Buffy and just inferring whatever history comes up but to fully appreciate Angel's style and take on this world I think you almost have to watch Buffy's. I thought Buffy was okay as a decent way to kill an hour when it was on and I was in college, but I never really saw the appeal in Angel, even when I watched the whole thing when TNT would show it in 2-hour blocks every morning a few years back. Neither one is something I feel like I ever need to revisit. Then again, I don't think Joss Whedon is anywhere near as brilliant of a writer as most of the internet would have you believe.
