Well, I put together one corridor building tonight before we had some games and it took longer than expected but was well worth the effort. I can see what you meant about having to force pieces together but the result is really, really lovely. I didn't notice the card designations at first, like A1, B1, etc and that is quite useful at least. They really need to sort out that instruction sheet though, it's pretty dire.

Had some great games tonight, Lupe Balboa is tons of fun to use and works, really, really well. My Hellcats are a bit on and off with deploying from AD3, but it's so useful in YAMS. :v:

E:
We couldn't get over how much was in the box though, great value.

E: Some of tonights tables, we added some things to the sides/corners after I took this photo, plus some scatter in the middle, so they looked a bit different at the end and we shuffled them around after each game to keep things going and fix any terrain mistakes on the fly. We're looking into getting a printed mat or something so we have an urban floor to work with, rather than the green.

Drop something to get a few more orders in there, I'd really recommend dropping the Naga if you can to get in some Netrods to get at least 7-8 orders.

If you're learning to play though, just do battlebox-vs-battlebox games until you are both ready to push to 200pts.

No they're not balanced, but at that level of learning it's very hard to capitalize on it. E: if you are scared of the ALEPH boogeyman, just drop a Dakini and he'll starve out on orders after turn two.

Our group has been really good and we've shed about £230 between four of us. Most of it isn't built with the only completed things being those towers and bridges. So they'll look excellent in a week or so. I've been giving demo games for the past few weeks to promote it and the tables have done almost all of the work to attract interest, it's been great.

I also have been speaking to local printers about getting 4x4 mats printed, so our tables look a bit more immersive without the green flock, I just need to find some templates.

So, since coming back to Melbourne I haven't found anywhere to play, and apparently there is a tournament coming sometime next year that I might go to just because I really want to get some games in.

It's 250pts, which I've never really played up to before, though I have more than enough units to play around with a list. I wanted to go with someting pretty straight forward since I'm still relatively new to the game though.

What do you all think of this list:

Lost 6:13 on VPs yesterday, but the game was surprisingly fun. I'm getting better at actually getting turns done in a reasonable time (progress! :haw:) and lost mainly by a brainfart, forgetting to plant 2 monomines in a perfect spot right next to a Myrmidon squad that went on to gather 7 VPs next turn

Always give minelayers a high priority when it's time to do your orders. Having your skirmisher die with mines still unused on him is a big waste! Especially against slippery targets like ODD myrms. Mines ignore their best defense and can be used to herd them toward your MSV2 ARO troops, if any.

My friends finally talked me into joining a small infinity group, and being a crackhead about this sort of thing I went balls deep and just ordered this army.

It's got an army code underneath it, which I assume is for the army builder on their website

But when I try to load via the load list button it just hangs. Is it misformated or something?

Frankly, I hope you haven't bought it yet. The army itself is OK and balanced (I'd shift the LT to one of the Alguacils if the SWC allows), but it's half Corregidor and half Bakunin, and you may have a bit of trouble getting straight into sectorials. If you're not planning on going sectorial soon or are OK with a larger purchase at that point, it's fine. But I recommend starting at 150-200 pt until you stop tripping over your own feet.

BTW, what do you mean by "control heavy"?

It's just a casual group of friends meeting outside of the local gamestore for a more casual environment. I'd looked at the sectorials and didn't want to limit myself in what I could field so I didn't worry about that.
We're actually starting with just the starter boxes, but I had a little spare dosh so I threw it at this before it just went into beer or something.

From what I understand one could control the command aspect of the game through use of certain units. I've only read the rulebook once and didn't quite grasp it 100%. It's a lot different from something like Warmachine or Warhammer. I need to play it to learn.

She did. This will be a different sculpt for her other profile. There's been a bit of discussion that if they'd just given her a boarding shotgun there wouldn't be a need for a separate sculpt, but apparently they feel there's enough difference between the two that a 2nd sculpt is necessary. This new sculpt would also presumably eliminate her initial sculpt.
