My Ukrainian friend says that the direct translation of what the man says at the end of the video is "hosed in the mouth" or at least he thinks it is. I just assume that at this point, there is a phrase in Russia uttered specifically when crashing into a bear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07H-tbIX0GE

All on Black posted:You know, I think this is really funny but the mom's behavior still irritates me. I mean, the kid is obviously young enough to be living at home, so did she need to sink to his level and post a like-baiting response instead of just telling him off in person? It reminds me of that kid who was made to buy presents for other kids with the money from his returned PS3 - good lesson, but the whole thing was just such a blatantly obvious attempt by the parents to gain e-fame. We live in a world where parents find all kinds of ways to publicly humiliate their kids to teach them lessons involving social media and your immediate assumption is that the parents posted that publicly in order to gain likes. I would have posted that too as a parent. I could give a poo poo less about likes. Calling my kid out in front of the friends he just lied to impress, on the other hand, is a drat good lesson to teach. It takes him down a peg and forces him to address the fact that he lies for stupid rear end reasons to friends in one fell swoop. Teenagehood is a time of unrestrained and unrepentant ego, and I think that taking your kids down a peg in a way they can recover from is a drat good lesson to teach before you unleash them upon the world.

Hazy memory is telling me there's a university that allows students to build big crazy structures like that and then takes them down using the quick and dirty method. (I mean, why not? No fun in disassembling it otherwise.) Brief google search coming up empty for the other videos, but the video posted looks fake as Hell to me - have to imagine it was along the same lines but disguised as a TV interview. Edit - found one of the videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX-JikN6S8E Same name as the Tower of Pisa. Nothing proving that the interview wasn't a set up, but meh. It just seems so fake. Edit 2 - Staged. http://art.nmu.edu/department/eimg/ws/2/index.htm From the entry for the Tower of Pisa. "It was demolished by stringing a wire through the bottom of it which was hidden out of view of the camera that was filming the event. Mr. Flunchy posted:Eh I'm not really feeling the schadenfreude here. It's not like the kid is being especially atheistically obnoxious. I feel a bit bad for him having a Mum who'd say "give me a loving break" to their son so angrily. I don't think he's being obnoxious, either. Kid looks like he's about 15, but she's treating him like his opinion/beliefs don't matter. His beliefs might be silly or adolescent, but they matter to HIM. "Give me a loving break" when your child expresses an opinion doesn't seem like it's solid parenting. He doesn't raise his voice until she does, and when she tries the "well you're not getting anything for Christmas!" line he says (well - screams, since she's screaming) "okay." Good for him for sticking to his guns. Her trying that at all is indicative of how little respect she has for him, since that certainly would have worked on an 8 year old. So to me - the schadenfreude is on the mom. since she's just had a painful realization that her "child" is more like a "young adult" at this point, and she will need to adjust accordingly.

I feel kinda sorry for the poor puppy, if it's been taught by humans that licking is a sign of affection it was just trying to be friendly. On the other hand the way that other dog pops up like "WUSSHAPPNINHERE" is pretty goddamn hilarious.

By the way that puppy is licking the turtle, it's basically the same as us human folks saying "Hello, good neighbour!", and they also use licking as a form of social bonding. The little puppy just wanted to be friends, and is repayed by getting their tongue eaten.
