The second-generation Pontiac Sunbird, introduced by the automaker for the 1982 model year as the J2000, was built to be an inexpensive and fuel-efficient front-wheel-drive commuter car capable of seating five.

Episode 239 is one of the live episodes, the second at the Broad, and it's probably the best of those. Hell, it's a great one, live or not. I died at work when Jon explained why people had lots of kids in the twenties

Choked away a 20pt halftime lead, then Romo threw two INT's on their last two drives of the game to give, the first for the Green Bay go ahead TD, the second to close out the game.

Does anyone know the episode, or could even make a Youtube video, of the story of Seth's first sober New Year's where he was screaming I'M GONNA BEAT YOU HOLLYWOOD on some hill by himself and then gets a ticket?

Out of curiosity, what sort of situations/environments do you guys listen to UYD in? I used to binge through episodes on my headphones at my old desk job in the US when I first got turned on to the show (thanks to this thread or a previous incarnation). Now that I'm teaching in Japan it's usually around the apartment, favorite thing to do is throw an episode on, crack a beer, do some straightening up, and bask in the warm glow of two American Americans trying to save America from herself. I try to have a few un-listened to eps on my phone, so if I've got a walk ahead of me (like ~20 minutes to the center of town to drink), I'll pop an earphone in and listen to it on the way.

Today I had nothing to do at work, so I brought my needle and thread in and sewed up some warm pants I ripped last winter at my desk, listening to 398. They are pants of sincerity.

Holy gently caress episode 186 around 10 minutes in. Seth's rant about his hometown paper running a blurb about him ('Sounds like a great start!'), followed by his story about his mom at the apple store and the untimely "I want to gently caress my dad" is fuckin' hilarious.

Strafe those atheistic degenerates. Color them green with lots of holes.
I listen in my car when on meal-breaks from work. I work the night shift and finish late, so sometimes I'll even sit in the car after work just listening and chilling before going home.

I think UYD is best experienced in quiet solitude.

I listen around the house or driving to work, but I truly love listening to UYD while grocery shopping. Something about hearing Seth's misanthropic take on the general public while watching them compare vegetables and load carts up with frozen dinners makes me smile. Plus I get to ignore people I don't want to talk to.

I did the entire run throughout grad school, so the majority of it was on my phone while doing lab work. UYD is the official soundtrack to the two papers that came from my research.

Amen to this. I will have a couple of beers and do some garage listening for an episode or two (ten) a week. I also took a road trip from Omaha to Austin for a music festival in October and the wife and I listened to 11 straight hours. It was her first exposure to the boys and she is now a huge fan.

God drat I was laughing my rear end off at Seth's observation that every year he asks/tells people that this was the worst year ever and everyone always agrees. "What does that say about life and our future?"

Also I along with Jonathan have gotten lost in border patrol constitutional vids on YouTube.

I got annoyed by the Sci-Ti's taking over the Hollywood Christmas Parade but then realised that I only know that it even exists because of UYD anyway. Am fairly confident I've never seen a single other person mention it (at least not in like the last 5 years). Apparently in 2000 the two Grand Marshals were Frankie Muniz & Dennis Hopper, which sounds like quite something.
