We're having a big surge of interest in the club: Plenty of people interested in Haqqislam and Tohaa, which I feel I know enough to help with. However, a friend bought the Acontecimento starter and is asking how to expand it into a 300 point army. I don't know much about how any PanO faction works. Any hints on how to get a workable list for a decent $$ price?

Let's see. Single Bagh-Mari are kinda lackluster, so using the rest of the pack would be: SHOCK ARMY OF ACONTECIMENTO ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 8 0 0 REGULAR Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. Running an Acontecimento list without a Guarda de Assalto feels like a crime for how much grief those drat things have given me. Hard to fit it in if you're running a good Regular link and a Dragoes, but if you're after a non-TAG list, he's probably well worth considering. BS15 shooting is horseshit, especially when it comes with its own bonus Zero-V smoke LGL to camp out in/block fire lanes with.

Yeah, great options to expand to with ASA are: Guarda de Assalto. Naga Dragoe Toni Macayana (She has no sculpt). Bagh Mari (ideally HMG then Sniper). More Regulars to make larger link teams, etc.

Yesterday I played with some other quite new to infinity guys and a question came up about the explode skill on the Yu Ying Kuang-shi troops. Are these correct? 1. If they use their dogged skill in their active turn they don't go unconscious so no explosion but regular death 2. If they are shot during their reactive turn they go unconscious and explode automatically 2.1 If they get hit by shock or viral or something inducing instantkill they don't explode. 3. If they willingly forgo their dogged skill and go unconscious in their active turn they explode 4. If their player falls below 40% of his stating points and goes into retreat they all explode 5. If the controller uses his device all active models explode 6. If a Fiday catches the controller after killing its previous owner, he can make them explode too Doctors Inc fucked around with this message at 13:24 on Dec 30, 2013 |

^^^: You snooze you lose Morat starter: Uxia McNeill resculpt: Stephen Rao: (oh and a CG repack I guess) Love the new Morats, badass without being overdone. Hated the Raktorak's concept art but the helmet saves it. Not convinced about the new Oznat design, but I'll be converting another one in the old style (someday... when I get to it...), so no big deal. The only thing I don't like is the Sogarat's big base. Uxia is the same old style with a whole new class of quality. I love that she's still a no-nonsense army woman and not an anime teenager like the other one. Rao... Well, PanO does nothing for me, so whatever. I love the weapon redesign though. Reversed mags still look ugly, but getting rid of the upper one made the rifle look much less ridiculous. I went up against a buddies Steel Phalanx which was quite low model count and he found my list an absolute poo poo to deal with. I was dropping mines and e/maulers in the most aggravating positions I could think of and had teams of Morlocks covering one side, Sin Eaters locking down the other and my Uberfall charging head long through smoke grenades and murdering dudes. Great looking board, I am curious to see how you paint the spartan terrain, I haven't seen any tutorials or guides from others that have yet, which is pretty surprising. As the Infinity line of fire / line of sight rules are somewhat open to interpretation in certain specific cases, I have a short question how this is being ruled during official tournaments. Our local group is perfectly able to solve this by houseruling, but I would like to know if there is any official ruling on something like this. As it could be quite gamechanging depending on how it's ruled. It came up when one of my figures walked to a corner of a building, shooting around the corner at several enemy models standing there, all of them touching the wall with their bases. code:
2. Or would only the closest enemy be able to shoot while the other two couldn't draw a lof through their comrade? 3. Or would we have to decide on the specific models used and see who might have a glimpse at a head sized part of my model during my movement? The latter might be the intended solution, but in a tournament situation this could lead to a load of discussion. This is what we found in the FAQ: "FAQ - Line of Fire" posted:Enemy and allied miniatures in the LoF block it and a player is not permitted to attack their own troops. If the target chosen is bigger than friendly models in the LoF, then LoF is not blocked. So in the first paragraph, do they talk about base sizes, or miniature height or miniture bulkiness? And in the second part, is the space below an arm for axample also a gap that cannot be used to draw an lof?

As far as my understanding goes, only C would get a reaction if the base sizes of A, B, and C are the same size. If A or B was a remote, TAG, AJAX, etc. you would then check to see if LOS could be drawn to the base of the enemy model. Otherwise, only one ARO from C (A and B could ARO to change facing if they're within 8").code:

# ? Jan 7, 2014 14:34 |

I also read it that A & B would get the shot if the opponent was a TAG.Doctors Inc posted:So in the first paragraph, do they talk about base sizes, or miniature height or miniture bulkiness? Most of the game rules seem to refer to base sizes, as bulkiness and miniature height tends to be the same, with a few dumb exceptions. I'd go with what makes sense for the situation. As for question 2, I think there is a rule somewhere about arms and legs and LOS, but I'm not sure where it is. Baron Snow fucked around with this message at 15:56 on Jan 7, 2014 |
