You and me are good friends. Regarding the toolchat, if you haven't watched it before check out Joe Rogan's interview with MJK on youtube, it's like 2 hours long. It's a great watch but it also makes me sad because if I were to ever meet MJK in person I'd have nothing interesting to talk to him about other than fawning over his musical talents, which he wouldn't tolerate since he seems to downplay that sort of stuff.

It looks like Amazon got some more of the Cherry MX Brown in stock for Prime since last time I checked last week. drat shame since I ended up buying from Corsair directly to get the MSRP value price (it was reaching $200 through Amazon last time I checked) and it's a pain waiting for regular UPS Ground shipping compared to Amazon's 2-Day Prime deliveries.

I got this exact keyboard about two months ago. I'd be interested to hear your opinion after using it for a while. Overall I love it. My one little nitpick is that I'm used to a partially indented caps lock key to space itself out from the A button, and the K70 doesn't have that. As a result, I fat finger caps lock a LOT with this keyboard. I'm hoping I'll just adapt better in time.

Is that the iBolt dock? And for the S3 mainly?

I have one that they sell for the Note 2 that's great, especially with the micro to usb/aux cable. One thing that needed to be changed on it the spring strength. It's too hard to easily get the phone in, and eventually rubs the gray pads off in a few months time. They even sent me instructions on how to do that so that they wouldn't have to replace the dock again. I'm not sure if you got an iBolt or if it's just a clone, but if you need the instructions I can pass them along.

I have that keyboard at home and I use a different one at work. In short, they are great. Both are extremely well built and sturdy. The main benefit is that each key press is precise. There is a very specific point where the key "breaks" and that is the exact point that the press is registered on the computer. There is no "mush" in key presses like with normal keyboards. There are many kinds with different types of switches that some people prefer for various tasks. There is a good thread here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3189022

Reddit also has a pretty good subreddit that has a lot of good info too https://reddit.com/r/mechanicalkeyboards
Depending on what switch you may like they can be bought new for around $60. there are a lot of options there.

you can also buy whatever keys you want http://techkeys.us/collections/keys/products/center-stem-stepped-capslock (take note of that capslock guy)

edit: if you're interested you could always buy a sample kit http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/wasd-sampler-kit.html#ad-image-0

It's really just the tactile sensation that makes them special. You can get them loud as a typewriter or "silent" versions, which I might recommend because I'm told my typing is loud as gently caress. Most mechanical keyboards I've seen also have the classic IBM key layout, and I can type a lot faster on them as a result.

Just try one at out a computer store if you can.

Because everyone else in this thread is too busy sperging out about keyboard to say it, congratulations and good luck! That is a really lovely ring.

Here is a really lovely picture of everything that I bought today! I didn't realize how lovely it was until now, but I am definitely not getting out of bed again to re-do it.

My plan was to get a really nice pair of wireless headphones for my dad, but then THIS MORNING, he moved his stereo system (that he got for christmas last year) into the garage, where he can listen to it loudly without needing headphones, so I got him a clock radio to put by his bed and a pair of not-fancy headphones to go with it. The shirts are also for him, everything else is stocking stuffers for my mom and brother.

Also, last week Threadless had all of their Simpsons t-shirts on sale for $10, and I happened to have a $10 coupon for them laying around, so this lovely thing should be making it's way to me soon:
