Don't get too down about it.

In the same vein as the 'gay-bashing fake redneck yuppie is the next Rosa Parks', that old CNN comments section is full of right wingers trying to claim dems/liberals (and also CNN) are 'the real bigots' or whatever for disliking the lovely behavior of the American right wing. It's a pathetic passive-aggressive clusterfuck of nitwits and yahoos pretending to be 'persecuted' for being dumb white racist homophobic assholes. It'd be great to have a go-to resource to say to right wingers "here's how wrong <talking head> was before, why would you listen to them now?" Any time a prediction is wrong in favor of conservatives, it's because heroic and patriotic defenders of liberty scared the government off of its evil plans (see: why guns weren't banned last year). Any time a prediction is wrong in favor of their opponents, it's because of a subversion of the electoral or government process (see: president Romney). Any time an offensively discrediting statement is made, it's because the speaker is being taken out of context (see: any racist thing ever).

Well the Democrats were the party of war at the time, because southern conservatives were bloodthirsty warmongers who loved shooting them some commie civilians. Southern Democrats start wars, Republicans profit from them, and northeastern Liberals, both Republican and Democrat, protest ineffectively and get beaten by police. Same thing as the BUT BUT BUT THE DEMOCRATS VOTED AGAINST THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT AND THE REPUBLICANS VOTED FOR IT!!!!!!
