My cat drools. He is brain damaged, though. Really. He's functional and stuff, but he wobbles a little and I have to lift him on to the bed. And he drools and his tongue sticks out.

Last page, but just wanted to say that I own this and it's as adorable as you'd expect. Belle and Sebastian are a strange thing for me. I wouldn't consider them my favorite band or anything, but I own almost all their albums, listen to them on a regular basis, and have seen them live more times than any other group. Consuming then is almost an obligation for me at this point, but they always put out quality work so I'm okay with that.

Did I miss book chat? I just finished a lit class and it did just what I hoped, exposed me to some actual good authors and got me motivated to read regularly again. I'm crazy into Baldwin right now. I was at Powell's and read part of Nobody Knows My Name and it's so good. And I really want to find a good book about the history of San Francisco's Chinatown. As an aside, Pick is the best threadmaker in GBS.

The baby was pretty chill. Kind of like a potato. He was just sort of taring at me until I started booping his nose and started giggling. I nibbled on his tiny baby feet. He smelled like good baby smells. Mom is looking pretty chill as well. He has the same name as my husband which is kind of hilarious because it's a weird Irish name that will haunt him forever. But yeah kittens are cool too. I foster cats for a local animal shelter & every May they find a ton of kittens on the streets and send out an email like, "Kittens, anyone? Can anyone take 2-3 kittens?" And I always do, because they come when they're like 9 weeks old and usually get adopted by the time their 12-16 weeks old, so I get the best kitten play time.

So far my new black Friday peacoat is the bright spot of this month. It's been a lovely month of bad news. Maybe I'll stay off Facebook until January so I don't feel the urge to punch another happy person in the face. Thanks for letting me inject this e/n rant.

My brother just brought home the most perfectly adorable white kitten and named him Castiel. He's super affectionate but tends to go and hide when there are too many people, as opposed to our older cats Sam and Darwin who will climb up into perfect strangers laps after a cursory sniff. We brough Sam home when he was about three years old, and he's a maine coon so he probably won't live much longer. He's kind of unwell, but still mostly happy. Darwin was from a litter that a stray we brought home had, I've known him since he was like three hours old, and he is my perfect baboo.

A) Don't be alarmed, but there's a slim chance your brother has stumbled into Supernatural fandom. If he begins to say things along the lines of "my feels" or "ftwincest", put him into quarantine immediately. B) "catsiel"

A) I've watched most of it with him. It's mediocre but it's family bonding, and better than hardcore ice road pawn auctioners. He just likes to giggle about Deans repressed homosexuality. B) Aww. I do the same thing to Sam. As far as I'm concerned he's Samwise Catgee.

Just got back from my friend's baby's christening, and she is the nicest best behaved baby! She's 7 months so she's pretty robust now but I still won't hold her because what if I break her and oh my god how do I baby She likes it when I play peekaboo with her though Aaaaand another one of my school friends announced that she's 3 months pregnant, why are we all so old now? It's making me a bit paranoid and I'm gonna get an IUD put in the moment I finish my holiday, thanks to whichever ladythread poster it was who said it's not such a big deal as I was making it out to be. My uterus will be a blasted wasteland in which nothing grows My powerful urge to not babies is matched only by my equally powerful urge to cat Gotta get cat

IUD can hurt terribly or be pretty trivial. I'll admit mine hurt, but certainly less than a lot of other medical procedures, or less than wrestling in a gravel pit which I had been doing beforehand (I got concern at the women's clinic for all my scrapes and cuts).

Kittens are like dogs and children, best when they belong to someone else so I can enjoy them in small doses. I'm always so glad when they become awesome chill grown up cats instead of cute but hyper things that don't let me sleep. Representative of my lap atm:

The only thing I'm worried about with the IUD is the thing where it's harder to put it in women who haven't had kids, other than that my uterus is pretty well behaved so hopefully it won't be too bad? Kittens are super cute but I wouldn't have the time to raise them properly, hoping to move into a new place in May/June and then I'll think about getting a pair of adult cats from a shelter There's a super friendly neighbourhood cat who's just about keeping me in line right now but once I don't have Chubbs any more I'll be sad

Bazooka is a sweet cat, clearly raised by someone with love and care, but I really wish they'd gotten him to run around at 4AM a little less.

Cats are awesome, my cat used to give me hugs when I picked him up Got all my Christmas shopping done with no issues. Getting food was another matter though. The thing we wanted turned out to be far too big (feeds 10) so had to go with plain old turkey. Pretty much everywhere had sold out of parsnips too, managed to find some in a cheap poo poo shop in the end. I'm knackered now though from all the walking and feel like my legs are on fire

I like the guys who hang out here and feel like we should accept all ladies, whether they have penises or no. Crow Jane, that's kind of exactly how I feel about them. If you looked at my last.fm you would say they're one of my favorite bands but I would never say tht, partly because too much religious imagery. Have you ever listened to God Help the Girl? Hands down my favorite stuff to sing alone in the car. HOWEVER, I saw B&S live a few months ago expecting it to be good, and it was HOLY poo poo WONDERFUL. I go to a lot of shows and this was definitely in my top 3. It was fun and dancy and even sad songs he made kind of silly.

vaguely posted:The only thing I'm worried about with the IUD is the thing where it's harder to put it in women who haven't had kids, other than that my uterus is pretty well behaved so hopefully it won't be too bad? Yeah unfortunately it's kind of the luck of the draw. For me it wasn't that bad but I've heard other people have different experiences - it's a very individual thing (my uterus is also well behaved). But in any case the bad part is usually over in a matter of seconds and then you're good to go! We have a birth control megathread over in Ask/Tell full of great info. I'd recommend sticking close to it, because Googling any medical procedure will just bring up crazy horror stories that will scare you unnecessarily. Anyway, cat chat: My cat drools whenever he gets really affectionate (which is 24/7) and if he had things his way, his feet would never touch the ground again. I've seriously never had such a crazy affectionate cat that loved to be carried around so much.
