Eh, other feeder leagues manage just fine, they just have to CONSTANTLY be scouring for talent and can't spend too much promotional effort on any single fighter.

So, in less scrub-tastic news, Jessica Aguilar is fighting Alida Gray in her next fight for WSoF for the inaugural WSoF Strawweight belt. Alida Gray is 4-0 (4-1 amat.), all 8 wins by stoppage, has a submission win over Patricia Vidonic, and KO'd the gently caress out of some chick in October. She or Stephanie Eggink were the two best possible choices of who was available so I'm actually pretty bummed Gray wasn't signed to Invicta instead. To be fair to the other girl who looks like a wobbly stick figure, this was at the start of the third round and she'd already been pretty hosed up.

And Mei Yamaguchi was robbed in her last fight so I'd add her too, but just to cover all the bases maybe add Patricia Vidonic too. Pull out Emily Kagan (I really am not sure how Kagan got in there, she can't finish people, she's not very marketable, and her best win by far (Ashley Cummins) was by most accounts a robbery). Add Mizuki Inoue and give her a full-time translator for training. There you go. Since Ayaka Hamasaki has a long-term injury, you now have arguably the top 12 healthy Strawweights in the world plus 4 other excellent prospects. Unfortunately this is all pretty much a pipe dream (although I wouldn't be surprised to see Eggink on the show).

Barring a controversial decision in a fight involving the eventual champion, or an injury to one of the top four fighters in the tournament before they've lost, it's going to be hard for any of the othter fighters to come out of the TUF Finale with the needed credibility to be be next-in-line for a title shot. The upside is the champion will be a star, and the entire top half of the division or more will probably have some name recognition, but having an outside challenger or two would buy valuable time to build up another title challenger from within that TUF 20 pool. The only promising outside options right now are World #1 Jessica Aguilar, and shooting star Mizuki Inoue. Neither are guaranteed to stay spotless over the next 15 months, but both should be under consideration right now. JAG's WSoF contract should be up by the time the TUF 20 winner needs to fight again, and Inoue now is hooked up with Shu Hirata who could easily secure her a UFC contract if she continues to be impressive and if Shannon Knapp lets her go (I have a feeling she'll be leaving DEEP at the next available opportunity).
