I'm going to go check these out today. I have a set of cheap Dr Scholls that go to crap and kill my feet after about 6 weeks. Do these stand up really well?

Got my last gift from Holiday Bullshit today. That brings it to 12. Here's the rundown 1-6) Packs of new cards for Cards Against Humanity (Note: They came in different intervals, so it worked out pretty drat good) 7) A bag of Coal 8) A Thing of comics 9) A custom Cards Against Humanity Card with my name on it. 10) Clusterfuck 11) Posters 12) A donation made to a charity that got me a hand written note from some little girl named Zoe, thanking me for the ink as she called it. screenwritersblues has a new favorite as of 20:32 on Dec 26, 2013 |

I think I'm missing one of the packs of cards...maybe two...I have them all stacked next to me, not sorted, just all stacked up on each other as I opened them. So by using the black cards as the "dividers" I only see four sets. I guess they said just email them if you end up missing stuff...so I'll wait a couple more days then do that. Edit: But on the good news front, this Kickstarter I backed SO MANY MONTHS AGO finally arrived: It's a super small cell phone charger to fit on a keychain. It gives enough juice for maybe just a few minute phonecall, but that's the point. Emergency battery power if your phone is dead. DrBouvenstein has a new favorite as of 21:12 on Dec 26, 2013 |

I bought a Vita because they were on sale for used for $129, and between some trade ins and a gift card I got it for about $50. I found out the hard way though that you need a memory card to do ANYTHING, even play a game you have on a cart. Seriously, it was like a flashback to N64/PSX but worse. And since Gamestop also had those on sale for a reasonable price they were sold out EVERYWHERE until I found some at Sears for the normal ridiculous price. /rant

The boots have held up better and have greater fit and finish than my Wolverine 1ks and Aldens. I haven't had any problems with Jack Spade, love the designs, and it's priced competitively with similar lines. You also have to take into consideration that I'm paying at least 30% less than retail price.

I knew the 'please I know people' caveat was coming. In all honesty you can say Rag & Bone and Jack Spade are worth the price? I'm genuinely curious, I've seen items from both and I've never been blown away by craftsmanship. I just don't see any difference besides the label between a Jack Spade and a Manhattan Portage.

Duck and Cover posted:It's a chair not an investment yeesh. Investment: An asset or item that is purchased with the hope that it will generate income or appreciate in the future. JMod posted:I knew the 'please I know people' caveat was coming. In all honesty you can say Rag & Bone and Jack Spade are worth the price? I'm genuinely curious, I've seen items from both and I've never been blown away by craftsmanship. I just don't see any difference besides the label between a Jack Spade and a Manhattan Portage. As I said, generally yes, but take the time to evaluate each individual item. Do I think a $120 Rag & Bone tee shirt is worth the price? No. Do I think a $700 wool blazer, made in the USA with wool sourced from the nearly-200-year-old Abraham Moon & Sons mill in the U.K. is worth the price? Definitely. Especially when compared to offerings from LBM and Boss. Manhattan Portage bags are functional and well made for the price, but they're also mostly nylon with nylon webbed straps and plastic buckles and fasteners. They're also very utilitarian looking and I wouldn't be surprised to see one in the back seat of a Subaru Outback parked outside an REI. I'd feel comfortable with one camping or riding my bike through the city, but not carrying one into a meeting with a client. Jack Spade puts a ton of thought into choosing unique and quality textiles and leathers for their bags. My briefcase uses oxford cloth that wouldn't look out of place if used for a suit, but it also has thick leather on the bottom and on parts that will see a lot of wear. Their harris tweed is full of character and gets better with wear. The straps are cotton instead of nylon and all of the zippers, buckles, clasps, d-rings and other hardware are brass and steel. They're also aesthetically pleasing with modern takes on classic designs, which can fit in with both casual and business environments. The prices are a bit steep, but since they update their lines for each fashion season, keep an eye out for sales and pick up the one you want for 50% off. Or buy used. You can buy a Carhartt jacket for a lot less than a Belstaff, two Corvettes for the price of one 911, and a Timex will keep more accurate time than an Omega. It's not all about numbers.
