Hey Redvenom did you go to Eucalyptus Bowl last year? If so do you know if there are any of those Blood Bowl field mats kicking around it? I was just getting into BB and didn't couldn't make it down to Sydney. On Hobbit news I hope GW reprint the Battle of Five Armies Warmaster game they used to make.

I've been to Eucbowl the last few years, and the roll up mats are pretty cool - but! - you don't have to turn up to a tournie like that to get one. Have a look at http://www.ff-fields.com , who make both roll mat and jigsaw fields. I have an Ausbowl jigsaw one that I absolutely love. That said, I'm not convinced that Virral (who runs EucBowl) got his made there this time. You could try dropping him a PM on Ausbowl to see if he has any of those left if you're interested in that particular design. If you're interested there's plenty of tournaments coming up, not to mention lots of leagues are starting up after the Christmas break.

Cheers. I need a few more games on Fumbbl because I'm a complete newbie, but I'll definitely try to get to an event this year.

There's a league which runs in the +7 to +11 (roughly) timezones, who are pretty good at providing games, advice, etc if you want any. Take a look at the Fumbbl group page, or drop into #swl on irc.fumbbl.com. They have a new season drafting incredibly soon if you're interested, IRC is the best way to get the admin's attention. Alternately I'm always happy to stump up something, drop me a PM to lolvenom on fumbbl. The community is big and supporting, so good BB hunting!

Hey guys, I just looked on the Canadian Games Workshop store to buy some Battlefleet Gothic Ships only to find that they are all but gone. At least for Canada, it looks like Games Workshop has stopped stocking it's specialist games and are selling off the remaining stock. Is this just for Canada, or is everyone else having the same issue?

Battlefleet Gothic is basically done, GW has given up on producing the ships - they're even gone from Forge World. As a heads up, this is also true for a bunch of other Specialist Games, they're selling what stock they have and that will be the end of it. Necromunda is gone, Mordheim and Inquisitor have only a couple things left in stock. It's a drat shame, but there it is.

The worst thing is that by the time I heard the IC Podcast on BFG, it had already disappeared. Sure, me and my friend could play Firestorm Armada instead, but there's no fluff we care about behind it. Having metal-only models didn't help BFG, I think.

If you create a game, put it out, and say "Have fun" and pretty much walk away, the game won't gain a lot of traction and will eventually fade away. You also had things like Eldar which could zip in, shoot the poo poo out of your fleet, and zip back out of range - this did not help the game any. You can find BFG fleets on Ebay at pretty reasonable prices. Also, if you look at some of the BFG boards, people are doing proxy models through Shapeways.

Putting the finishing touches to a bloodbowl team I started putting together 2 1/2 years ago, borrowed some Chaos Warriors off of a friend to get myself going in our league but I figure it's time I gave them back (in all honesty, I haven't seen the guy since our last mini league ran 2 and a half years ago).. so.. I need to find something as a stand in for my chaos warriors in my chaos team. I'm using the GW Gor regiment set as the basis for all of my beastmen, they're already built and painted up - chaos warriors though?.. I've got nothing. I'd rather stick to GW sculpts (two reasons, reason 1 'just because' and reason 2, every single third party manufacturer of fantasy football miniatures seems to charge through the roof for single models) So far I've whittled the list down to... - WHFB Chaos Forsaken, the closest thing resembling chaos warriors that's still vaguely posable (posability being one reason I won't touch the better (but old) chaos warrior sculpts, way too static) - £30 for 10 - WHFB Bestigors, in keeping with the existing beastman theme I've got going on.. it wouldn't be too hard to pass these guys off as 'counts as' chaos warriors... ~£25.50'ish for 10 - WHFB Horrors of Tzeentch, just because 'chaos' and they'd stand out against the beastmen I'm using, they're also mostly weapon free models which makes life easier... this is also the cheapest of all the options at £18 for a box of 10 Decisions decisions

Avatars of war has a not-chaos-warriors set. They are pretty nurgly though. How about chaos space marines? Or marauders with extra amour sculpted on?

The WoC Chosen could be an option. They are kind of posed like they are shoulder slamming and the halberds aren't moulded to them. Although you would likely have to replace the arm in the air.

They are nice models though, if I was feeling a bit more flush then I'd be tempted As it is, I think ebay is going to be my best 'bang for buck' solution. GW chaos warriors from the previous version of the kit should be cheap if you're using ebay, and no cloaks/shields. You might want to convert them so the heads are on top of the torso rather than sticking out of the chest though.

All Willy BB teams are amazing and I feel the capture the GW feel pretty well. But yeah you pay for the amazingness. Then again you are looking at about 70 bucks for a whole second hand BB team on eBay these days.

Only problem is the auction doesn't end for 5 days so I need to sit tight

I guess the Epic thread finally got subsumed into this one? Pics are up from our big Epic weekend - we had twelve players, running 6000 points each. As usual, my Orks fared poorly. In turn one, I had so many units that I had to intermingle them - one lost close combat and that wound up breaking two additional units. At the end of turn two, all but two of my units were broken and I failed to rally anything going into turn three. It was a terrible day for da boyz... Pics here.

Thanks for sharing! That looks like a great day of gaming. I played three games of Necromunda yesterday, my new Chaos cult gang (counts-as Cawdor) versus my buddy's new Orlocks. I lost all three games, but killed two of his gangers, so I say I'm coming out ahead

The other thing it's hard to comprehend about the Willy Chaos Team without holding them in your hands is that the warriors are loving huge. They're somewhere between terminators and ogres.

Here's my team, the Nuln Bombardiers: Full team Throwers Catchers Blitzers Linemen In 2011 the Springfield, Va GW store held a BB tournament, and the Bombardiers took 1st place! I have my own BB board and dice and the whole shebang, so if a DMV Goon ever wants to get together and get a game of Fantasy Football in, I'm down!
