Hog Obituary posted:Speaking of crackpipe e30s... People are listing those for about what it would cost to build (assuming the donor was in good running shape and parts were bought new) and "BECAUSE E30" people are actually paying over 10k for S50/S52 e30s. I kinda like that they have absurd cult status because no one wants e36s and the prices on them these days are fantastic. I could grab a solid 328is for less than 1/3 the cost of that e30, or an M3 sedan for 2-4k less. Phone posted:I have the January issue of Roundel in front of me if you want to see some ridiculous poo poo. The iX worship these days is even more mind boggling. I had one - it was a fun car with the 40/60 AWD bias, but also had a good amount of problems. Anything related to the 4wd system is expensive as hell and generally unreliable, especially the front diff and viscous coupling in the transfer case. The front suspension travel is actually worse than a stock RWD car, and due to all the added weight 170hp and 3000lbs feels pretty slow even with the 3.93 diffs. They also get awful gas mileage for a car, like below 20mpg average. But despite all this people are paying more than good condition iS models. I don't get it. For that money give me a good condition 02+ WRX. Crustashio fucked around with this message at 15:52 on Jan 5, 2014 |

I have a weird thing for Mavericks, Falcons and early Novas lately. Makes me wish I had a lot of storage room and the ability to weld. Saw an awesome Futura with rotten torque boxes, can't possibly be that hard to fix... Nor would be the other three thousand problems the PO hid or was too inept to detect.

I sold a 97 for about a grand and a half more than that guy is asking... It was lifted, had a welded rear diff, body damage on every panel from offroading, flopped it into a tree, etc. I miss that truck.

These seem to be a thing in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. I have maybe ever only seen 1 or 2 'supercars' in these same areas, but it seems like every time I go I see an R8. Are they cheaper than Lambo, Porsche? http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4274857841.html

Fortunately 99% of that will come off with a bit of acetone and a quick rub with a lint free rag. Careful around any plastic lights, though. They cloud up really loving fast when exposed to acetone, in fact it's the ingredient of (or one of the ingredients of) brakleen that causes fogged reflectors/lamps.
