Not my fault you live in the rear end end of a golf development accessible through empty, curvy roads with 50 mph limits!

Haha amazing, especially since I didn't think even my old E46 330Ci would compare to the ST. I can't wait for mine, I really hope I can get it soon - dealer completely hosed up my order, long story but I should have had my car weeks ago and I won't have it for another 2 months at best unless they can get me a local car.

The Fiesta ST just makes me crave a Honda Fit SI. Yes, I know that is completely impractical, but that has been one of the best drat cars I've ever owned. A turbo could only make it great, RIGHT? But in reality Honda won't even keep the Civic Si up with the rest of the market, and they canceled the S2000, and yeah they pretty much hate fun.

The fit seems super practical, I only test drove one - a manual """""Sport""""" model, I say sport with such enthusiasm because it made the Chevy Prizm I rolled up in feel like a McLaren F1. It may have been one of the slowest cars I have ever driven. 30MPH in second gear and I floor it - nothing happens. Real cool car in terms of space and reliability, handled nicely, but holy crap an Si/turbo model would be incredible. Just slap the KA20 in that bitch and it would move so well. Honda bring back the fun, I miss you.

Galler posted:You've lived a very privileged automotive life if a Fit is the slowest car you've ever driven. Yeah, the manual fit wasn't a sports car but it was easily one the most fun in its segment of the market. The only thing that I think compares to it in fun value is the Chevy sonic because it has a similar sized engine but with a turbo.

No I meant the Prizm, (which is basically a Corolla and has a 1.8L I4 1ZZ-FE, ~140HP) was much faster. I always see everyone raving about how fun the Fit is and I just don't get it at all. Maybe I'm crazy but it was so painfully slow it sucked out any fun I could have had. I have driven slower cars, but I guess I just expected more with all the praise it gets. Why did they stick a wheezy 1.5L sohc in that thing?

We already get a Mountune tuning pack (it's a K&N panel and a reflash) that gives 212bhp/236lbs.ft and keeps the warranty. £600 plus fitting.

The fact there's an AWD Fiesta in the WRC but not one available for sale to the general public is sort of weak.

I have to find out whether the rims that are on it were factory options because OZ doesn't make them anymore. Other than that and a stereo that won't stop babbling at me in Japanese, that's all that's been changed. Seriously, everything else is stock - I'm not sure about the pillar speakers but they are very tastefully done. Someone has really looked after this. Initially the plan was to take it up to 300 HP and then leave it at that, but it might be more fun to try and see how close to Concourse standard I can get this thing for non-ridiculous money. I am lost for words that Toyota ever built a car like this. This thing has a presence the 86 just lacks. Butt Wizard fucked around with this message at 10:04 on Jan 20, 2014 |

Crossposting, in part, a question from the MZR thread: Has anyone bought or sold a performance modded WRX, STi, GTI, MS3, etc.? Just wondering if the mods or the warranty impacts (voided warranty, at least as to the affected engine/ exhaust components) made resale tougher.

Awesome build, though I wonder why on the swap? Seems like for the same money you could fully build the 1.6L with a forged bottom end to handle more boost / higher compression and make up the 400cc difference pretty quickly. Edit: Just realized he didn't start with an ST, that would explain most of it. I think I'd still target the 1.6L turbo over the 2.0L since it should be more of a bolt-in.

The engine has 252hp if it's stock. They are very easy to get over 300hp and 350ft-lbs. I imagine there's a chance it will torque steer a bit.
