I'm getting burned out on this game, and I've decided to trade it in, if not today, then tomorrow. Before I do, if anyone's short on RC, post your info and I'll haul your pawn around BBI for a while, killing indiscriminately and see if it doesn't renew my passion for this awesome game. This is for people using the PS3, sorry XB360 owners.

You can kill them with exequy but that involves not getting hit for like a minute well you sit there and stuff stamina food down your throat. Metal golems are immune to magic, and the only way you can damage the talismans is with your heavy basic attack. If your pawns decide they don't want to help with them it takes forever to whittle even one down. Normal golems are still dicks as well but man gently caress metal golems. And that one magic immune beholder in the Everfall.

I just had to hope to hell that one of the meteors hit it on its way down.

Also, I'll edit her stuff to the strongest level, I've been using some other stuff for fun, like the Wrym Hunt cloak. Seriously, I plan on dragon-forging it for funsies. Ok I started this game and it is awesome. I don't care about minmax whatever and just went strider - assassin at lvl 10. Now I escorted the wagon with my trophy to Gran Soren. I picked up all quests on boards except escort quests. I saved Quina in the witchwood. Now I have 2 quests left that are not "kill x of ý ". 1 is to check the bandit hideout for the arcane tome l, the other is to explore Everfell. I am confused. Wtf is the main quest? Last I heard was that the soldierlady took credit for the hydra kill from some towncrier. I explored the city and guards told me not to pass. So jumped some wall and ended up in the noble quarters. Did I break the game by doind that? Also the bandit quest seems tough, do I have to do it now so it doesnt fail automatically?

The bandit one is all about avoiding enemies until you get to the castle if you're low leveled. It's not too hard to do early, and is worth it for its effects on a later story quest. If you can get to the Witchwood you can get there pretty easily, since it's on that same path. Am I crazy for wanting to go into new game + early? I have myself decked out in about as good of gear as I'll get before I dig into BBI, and I figure I can do that in NG+. I'll probably just zip through the story missions so I can get back to the everfall, but being able to buy portcrystals and some of the other things sound super useful.

I killed that stupid giant eye. AHAHAHHAHAHH-Laughs manically. Also anyone who uses my pawn. Right now I've been basically trying to get more people to use my female pawn by making her look sexy. It's annoying that I have to lower my pawn's gear to get people to hire it, but problems. So.. sorry in advance.

I just sent a bunch of friend requests to everyone who asked me to run them around BBI. I'm munglay. I'm running frenzalrobodevil and grizzlywilde's pawns now. So far I've dropped 3 garms, 3 eliminators, and the condemned gorecyclops twins. Griz sadly, couldn't run away from the grim reaper in time and got scythed, so I had to re-hire him. I just hope he didn't lose any exp/rc. I'm gonna make two Daimon runs as well and send everyone's pawn away with your choice of a lvl 3 BBI Weapon or Armor. I know a lot of you wanted Assassin gear so make sure you and your main pawn are both Strider/Ranger when you purify to increase your odds of getting something helpful. I started playing this today and its brilliant. I'm up to the bit where I need to escort the big snake head, but I haven't started that yet. I've seen a youtube of this part so I know my party is going to get slaughtered -- I need to find a good place to farm up experience and get some decent gear (still running around with the first rusted sword at the moment).

You watched a youtube of someone who loving sucks at this game then. The Hydra escort is easy, but it does drag on for-loving-ever. Thankfully it's the only mandatory escort in the game. The rest are optional and absolutely not worth it unless you care about affinities (which are dumb).

Don't watch gameplay videos unless it's done by a goon or someone you know isn't terrible, otherwise they'll likely be poo poo.

The first thing I did when I reached Gran Soren was accidentally accept an escort quest not fully understanding what I was doing, and discovered I had to walk a guy out to the Greatwall Encampment. This was super early on in my first playthrough, so I had very little idea what I was doing, and it remains one of the most intense experiences of the game. I survived my first night cycle, bumped into my first cyclops outside of that early required quest mission, was ambushed by a gang of female bandits in a ruined castle, lost my first pawn to a fall off a cliff, was harried by snow harpies, chased by my first chimera, and ran the last leg up the hill to the Greatwall mostly blinded by status effects. It took my six hours to get that rear end in a top hat merchant to the encampment. It was loving awesome.

I also just started playing this over the weekend. While Dragon's Dogma is running any dark areas of the screen will get random color streaks, like the resolution the game is running in doesn't quite match what the TV wants. None of my other PS3 games do this, and the TV has never had any issues otherwise. No settings changes on the PS3 end or the TV end make any difference so I'm kind of at a loss. Also, am I missing something? Is there really no way to tell if I am fighting level-appropriate enemies other than "did I one-shot it / did it one-shot me"? Kind of frustrating going on a quest to get a book from some dudes and finding myself surrounded by a dozen bandits any one of which would be a tough fight, then losing a half hour or so of progress. Maybe it doesn't help that I'm playing a tiny, tiny wizard.

Early in the game, groups of bandits will wreck your poo poo. Save often. Flee, if necessary. Send your pawns to run interference if that's what it takes. Eventually the difficulty curve will disappear and you will eat bandits for breakfast.

Eventually you'll get strong enough where most become easy, but you always have to be careful cause you can get advanced ones that are a bitch (Bandit Rangers ). So yeah, save often.

Those damned sword and shield bandits wrecked my poo poo forever until I finally upgraded my gear. I could handle the archers and assassins, but the rusty sword just isn't enough to hurt the tankier ones.

The striders aren't at all bad, but the Rangers will machingun snipe you from all the way across the area for half your health. If there's more there one getting hit once basically means death, and they're really hard to stagger on top of it.

On the up side, as Tiny Wizard I'm actually kind of hard to hit with ranged attacks as long as I don't stand still to charge up spells constantly. On the down side, I'm dead the moment a the sword and board bandits rears back to charge, because there's nothing I can do to stop them from one-shotting me. I do like that the game lets you make characters physically anywhere between "malnourished 12 year old" and "Volstagg". I was disappointed to find out that you only get one save slot, because otherwise I'd be playing around with the character builder constantly.

You can purchase an item in New Game+ that lets you alter your character's appearance as much as you want. There's one that lets you do that in the original playthrough, but it's a one-time use, so it's better to save your funds for the latter if you're interested.
