I bet what happened is that this contract was intended to be the end of the series because it's been 10 seasons and the gang wants to do other things. Glenn messed up by mentioning it early, and a bunch of suits yelled at him because it messes up the plan of how they want to announce it. Brand managers feel very strongly about controlling the manner and timing of these announcements. Especially with this coming so close to the launch of FXX. So now they have to pretend like the fate of the series is up in the air. I'd be shocked to see a season 11. Though maybe FXX ends up throwing them enough money to do a single extra season, possibly reduced.

There might be another one or two, but the gang is only making fun of a crazy guy who says it. I'm not offended by the word; I just think shock-laughs are low hanging fruit.

Always Sunny has plenty of "shocking" moments, but the key to them is that they just supplement the crazy poo poo that's already going on. It doesn't really rely on them. Just pointing this out because if that made you uncomfortable enough to skip an episode, you'll come across some more instances you might not like.

The episode with the gun, and there all just screaming to shoot him in the face is loving hilarious. Also, trying to pick up chicks at an abortion rally. I've been rewatching a little and I think The Gang Gets Trapped (the one where they are stuck in the Asian family's closets trying to get the vase) is the most perfect episode they've done yet. You could have never seen any other episode and still be able to understand every characters traits and the group dynamic.
