Pyroclastic posted:Buy all of them they have. It'd be relatively easy to flip for $130-150, and it'll probably go to $200 the instant it's sold out and retired on Lego.com. Yeah this. Basically any set that is like 33% off is worth picking up and reselling if you don't mind the hassle. Especially semi-exclusive sets like these.

As long as you have a place to store them, don't mind holding them for a year or so, and want to spend your free time flipping Lego. I mean, you'll probably make some money but it's not like you'll be making a grand for your efforts. I may have gotten a bit jaded about Lego speculation.

I found Arkham Asylum at a Wal-Mart a few months ago. I really should go check out the clearance section more (especially since there are still some Galaxy Patrol and early DC superhero sets); there's almost never anything there, but when there is it's usually something exciting.

How did Wal-Mart even get their hands on exclusive sets anyways? That's what I want to know.

KRILLIN IN THE NAME posted:Holy poo poo this box is massive the instructions on this are basically duplicated twice for the front and rear axle assemblies. just do them both at once, they're exactly the same except for the direction of the differential gear. They also spread out the assembly of those two axle assemblies and put the "frame" that they attach to right in between there. Just skip those parts and save it until after you've finished both axle assemblies.

Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the Isurus-class frigate. Originally designed as an affordable spaceliner, it has been modified and refitted for military usage and continues to be manufactered for military purposes. Due to having less armor than a standard combat-ready frigate of its size, it has been fitted with weaponry and sensors for engaging at a great distance. The primary armament is a pair of forward-fixed railguns, capable of delivering powerful kinetic or explosive barrages from great distance and at great velocity. For dealing with more nimble targets that the railguns cannot be brought to bear upon, a pair of missile tubes have been mounted on either side of the bridge. Just behind and above the missile launchers are powerful sensor arrays, which provide the crew with all the information and readings they need to engage targets at range. To the aft of the vessel lie two pairs of fins, which perform the dual functions of radiating excess heat from the dedicated railgun power plants and improving the craft's ability to maneuver and bring its railguns to bear. However, due to their position directly behind the sensor arrays the craft has a blind spot in its sensor net, directly to the rear of the craft. Due to this issue, and the craft's design as a sort of artillery unit, it is highly recommend it be deployed with escorts to cover this weakness. Propelling the craft through space is a pair of heavy drive coils. Being an emissionless drive makes the craft's movements difficult to track and predict outside of combat when the railguns' dedicated power plants are shut down. Should the need arise for the frigate to operate within an atmosphere or low orbit, it is equipped with a pair of antigrav lift generators, situated at the bottom of the ship. Atmospheric operations are aided by the presence of the fins, which help prevent rolling of the vessel. At an affordable 34 trillion macca, the Isurus-class frigate makes an excellent addition to any attack fleet! Order yours today!

Yeah sorry but I like the Simpsons house. The rooms are kinda tiny, but I don't want to spend $500 for it so I can accept that. The only thing I don't like is the half-closed eyes, but like someone else said I assume that's because the "main" versions will be in the minifig series. As for the house looking inaccurate compared to the show model, boy, if only there was some way to fix that...

Of course people can MOC a better Simpsons house, but buying a model kit that looks like X should not require spending a bunch of money and time altering it from the plans so that it actually looks like X. Not saying it wouldn't be fun to try.

Is there anything better than finding a seller on bricklink that has pretty much everything around $0.06 a brick, and just going to town on stuff that looks awesome? 250 pieces for under $20. (found them because they had a few pieces for a set I'm trying to complete, those pieces were pretty expensive but was still significantly cheaper than anyone else)

I do wish they'd update their Wanted List functionality. I don't think what they have was current even in the 90s. I ordered the pieces to build this on Friday. I bought the same dude's Mac 128k model and it is smashing. The only thing I subbed is the slopes used to form the screen -- apparently it doesn't exist in light blue and medium blue is only in one set, so naturally they cost a mint. Swapped them out for olive green so I can have one on, one off.

Came home to this last night. The fiance decided to have craft day with the girls, and this is the first time I have been truly excited about the end result of that day. The pictures don't do it justice but we don't have a camera other than our phones. We are thinking about adding a small bonsai tree to it or possibly going with a cool looking Lego tree as we both feel it is still missing something. Anyways thought I would share it, next up is the hobbit hole set.

Fred Meyer's doing a Buy 2 Get 1 Free (33% off at best) on all Lego this week. Not a bad time to grab some of the $30 Lego Movie sets or minifigs. Be careful at checkout, though; the discount didn't come up automatically and the checker had to get someone to authorize it. I assume it's because it's a new line and not in their database right, or they forgot to exclude it from the sale advertisements. They're also clearancing other stuff. Got the Quinjet for $33, and some Brain Attack Hero Factory line was also clearance.

So sitting on my couch is a brand new Simpsons House set. Because I got the most positive customer survey responses I won the staff contest for the joy of putting the display model together. I have to say that it is a really awesome looking set and it includes the most important character of the show. Inanimate Carbon Rod. I just hope that it sells well enough that they decide to make more in the line since from what I have gathered, this is an experiment due to its more "adult" theme. Basically if it sells well, they might make more of them. I definitely recommend getting one if you are on the fence about it. In any case, if you do shop at a Lego store, definitely fill our the surveys for us. It really helps us out. jadebullet fucked around with this message at 00:17 on Jan 15, 2014 |

I stopped in at a Lego store as I was passing through San Antonio and asked how I can go about getting a sticker for the Lego Movie for my modular cinema and he was able to hand me a sticker sheet on the spot. That is pretty awesome but now I need to do something with the extra one I got on E-Bay.

So I was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding a pic of a certain relatively old Lego set. Back in the mid 90s I got my first Lego set from a Target in Colorado. It was a Lego construction vehicle set that contained three different vehicles, one of which was a dump truck. It wasn't a 3 in 1, it was 3 separate vehicles in one set. It may have been 2 vehicles, not sure. I think they were all dump trucks or something similar. You guys probably won't be able to help me, but I figured I would ask to see.

This is something I've never come across before; I just got the Parisian Restaurant and it's missing a load of parts; so much so I suspect an entire bag has gone stray. Has anyone had this before? I know Lego will send out missing pieces but how do I deal with this? Is there a way to find out what parts should be in what bag or? I've not been able to build it much at all so I might have a duplicate bag I don't need or something I guess.
