I don't know how to feel about that Fish Hooks on Disney Channel. I think calling Fish Hooks "watchable" is awfully generous, myself.

Fish Hooks is just so much more muted and safe than it feels like it should be, especially as you look through its pedigree and find the names of people associated with the most off-the-wall stuff CN ever created, like Chowder, Billy & Mandy, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. You can even feel the crazy straining at the edges sometimes, but they just won't let it run wild, to the show's eternal detriment.

That didn't stop Drawn Together from happening, unfortunately.

The Total Drama shows remind me of Wacky Races, except way more boring.

While Drawn Together was a bad show they were at least making fun of the reality show premise, from what little I've seen of Total Drama ____ they're playing it straight.

Drawn Together was a show that was half funny and clever and then that half was dragged down by the other half trying it's darnedest to be edgy and offensive. Total Drama whatever just is bland as all the other Canadian shows and plays it's premise straight, with the only thing even remotely interesting about it being that it tries to appeal to a slightly older audience than most kid's shows.

The Drawn Together movie was the worst thing I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. Worse than anything from Canadian cartoons.

I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG, BROTHER!
Drawn Together had a great premise that was ruined by trying too hard to be vulgar that it just wasn't funny. I loved the idea of these different animation styles together. Though I guess that didn't even pan out completely as Spanky and Ling Ling were really the only ones that really stuck out as being animated differently.

I've only seen one episode of Fish Hooks, but with the way everyone just screams all the time, "muted" is the one adjective I wouldn't apply to it.

Finally got around to watching Season 5 of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It really is surprising how well the jokes have held up, largely due to most of them being either slapstick or bad (read awesome) puns. I especially like Salem this series, he's really on form. Best lines were in the episode where him and Zelda are auditioning for a catfood commercial and during an argument after the initial audition the following exchange happens:

Zelda: "May I remind you he complimented me!"
Salem: "May I remind you you had you skirt hiked up to your nostrils!"

Also when she tries to quit:
"Please, Zelda, come back! It's my method, I'm a tempermental actor!... I have pictures of you with the Brothers Grimm.:geno:"

It's not that it's bad necessarily; it's way above the Johnny Test standard. It's just that the scripts are bland and forgettable and the characters (with a few exceptions, specifically the clam and sometimes the principal) are incredibly cookiecutter. What makes it a shame are all the talented people who make the thing. It's full of potential, and I have a feeling it always will be.

And yes, a bit less screaming would be a good place to start.

The difference between the actual special itself and the Ringo Starr promo video was pretty noticeable, in terms of fluidity/poly count.

The musical fruit
The more you eat
The more you hoot

So, I've been trying to recall a cartoon from my childhood that I can't for the life of me remember the title of, and I really want to rediscover it so to speak. I'm not sure if this would be the right thread for it, but the Identify a Film thread in Cinema Discusso probably isn't the right place as that's for films, so I'm asking here.

I want to say the show was on the air in the mid to late 90s in America, and it wasn't necessarily on cable (it may have been, I didn't have cable TV back then). From what I can remember, it took place in Vienna, Austria, and may have been in a dystopian future. The main characters included at least a boy, with blond hair I think, and flying goggles; a piano that could talk and fly; and other musical-related characters. The big bad was some angry pompous man in a wig who hated music or something, and he lived in a really tall tower. He might've been someone important, like a despot or dictator or something. He may or may not have also been in cahoots with a giant evil jukebox/pipe organ, or I might be misremembering that.

Anyone have any idea what I might be talking about?
