It doesn't take any real effort to "launch" a cryptocurrency, all you need is the software (which is free and open-source), a web site, and a funny name/image. All those currencies are functionally identical clones of bitcoin, just with different networks of users.

May not have been the point you were trying to make, but posting an image of Kanye being a jerk (It was all over the internet hard to miss this tidbit of info) and referencing something people may not know about doesn't seem very productive.

Regardless since apparently this is the "rap" page there is only one rap song that needs to be listened to. And may it forever be on repeat.

You show all the signs of a stereotypical GBS/D&D poster when talking about rap in one post, even down to the "Reagan" link, here's the best D&D track.

Rap songs, just like novels, use unreliable narrators at times. I'm guessing you skipped around a few songs and listened a but without actually really hearing or trying to interpret the lyrics and made a judgement based on that. It's analogous to, say, skimming through Lolita and immediately dismissing it as a puerile sexual fantasy, or seeing the title of "Dulce et decorum est" and immediately pigeonholing it as jingoistic drivel, or some poo poo.

That specific "Eiffel tower" lyric, by the way, is a comment on constructs of masculinity which young boys adopt. Here's a brief clip where Kenrick talks about it

If you listen to the skit at the end of Vibe, it is Lamar's friends egging him on to freestyle in the back of the car (same white Toyota from other songs). The whole point is that it is the foolish wishes of young kids who just want the trappings of what they perceive as the rapper / masculine lifestyle. Also as a fun fact, he did the entirely of Backseat Freestyle in 2 takes.

The entire album is a non-linear narrative which makes it confusing at times but incredibly well constructed as a complete work.

McConnell and Rand Paul have recently influenced energy costs, screwing the Pacific Northwest to the benefit of their constituents:

quote:

The deal crafted by Senator Mitch McConnell, the minority leader, and Senator Rand Paul, a libertarian, required the federal agency that owns hydroelectric dams in the Pacific Northwest, the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), to pay $700 million for uranium fuel that could have been purchased on the open market for just $450 million. Interesting sidebar: Bonneville didn't need this fuel.

Obama to raise minimum wage for government contract workers

quote:

President Obama will announce in the State of the Union address Tuesday that he will use his executive power to increase the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour for workers on new government contracts, fulfilling a top demand by liberal lawmakers and groups, according to a White House document.

Obama will also renew his call for Congress to pass legislation to raise the federal minimum wage for all workers from $7.25 per hour to $10.10 per hour by 2015. But the president is taking the executive action with no clear timeline for Congress acting on the broader legislation. Previously, the White House said it wanted to concentrate on the legislative route for boosting the minimum wage.

"Hardworking Americans — including janitors and construction workers — working on new federal contracts will benefit from the Executive Order (EO),” the White House said in a statement. “Some examples of the hardworking people who would benefit from an EO include military base workers who wash dishes, serve food and do laundry.”

Hopefully this will increase the quality of life for many Americans. It ought to make things better for the folks that only work 32 or 25 hours a week.

I'm glad I voted for Obama. :obama:
