The knockout game is criminal activity. And it will continue as long as decent citizens don't stand up to it and say "enough!" Same with Obama's abuse of power - he took an oath, yet now conveniently refuses to obey it. To repeat what's been said before - "All that's necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men and women to do nothing".

Of course, it won't be easy, because Obama's boot-licking media lackeys are doing a pretty good job of intimidating most of the populace. And anybody that does criticize this clown will automatically be smeared as a racist. It takes a lot of guts to stand up to a dictator and his many well-placed supporters!

Free-associative stream of consciousness freep follows. No facts or alleged facts have been presented, only value judgements, which are met with other value judgements with no relation to those given at first except Obama Bad.

A ban on autos? Major cities consider going carless
CNBC.com ^ | January 26, 2014 | Paul A. Eisenstein

Posted on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 9:59:34 PM by Jack Hydrazine

Germany, home of the high-speed autobahn, is perhaps one of the few countries that has had as intense a love affair with the automobile as the U.S. But in an effort to go green, the country's second-largest city is studying ways to eliminate cars by 2034.

The northern city of Hamburg has laid out an initial concept, named the Green Network Plan, that would expand public transportation and add more routes for pedestrians and bicyclists. The most controversial aspect of the plan calls for a steady phase-out of automobiles in the center of the city over the next two decades.

And Hamburg might not be alone. The idea of banning, or at least reducing, the use of automobiles in city centers has become an increasingly hot topic among urban planners, especially in Europe and other industrialized countries dealing with issues as diverse as congestion and smog.

Yeah—everyone gets a $10 raise, that will make them feel better. Except when the cost of everything goes up $11.

Have these idiots ever taken an economics course?

The constant pressure to raise the minimum wage is actually pressure to kickstart the inflation required to diminish the debt.

Obamacare inflation is a good leftist effort but will fail absent across the board wage inflation. Higher premiums don’t matter if there are higher wages.

Once wages begin to cascade upward, prices will immediately follow. The stalled inflation will begin to move.

The concept of higher wages, free money, is popular. It is happening in several states and will become irresistible. There must be inflation to get the economy out of the plateaued stagnation.

Is it good? Janet Yellen will let us know.

“give America a raise”

The operative word here of course is the word “GIVE”, not earn, but GIVE! Marxists are never talk about EARNING money, but always about GIVING money - giving SOMEONE else’s money!

But suppose Obama does succeed with his fascist tactics to extort certain companies into GIVING certain employees more money, wouldn’t there be consequences? Why yes; yes, there WOULD be consequences!

For instance:

1. The cost of goods and services would increase, and the GIVING businesses would be forced to raise their prices or go bankrupt. The rest of us not so lucky to be GIVEN a raise would have to pay those higher prices, so GIVING some more money to some means less for the rest of us, i.e., earnings redistribution, i.e., Marxism.

2. But worse, GIVING certain employees more money would simply be another incentive to offshore even MORE manufacturing jobs to countries where employees EARN their money rather than have it GIVEN to them. This mean even more job losses in the U.S., so not only would those losing their jobs not be GIVEN more money, they wouldn’t even be EARNING any money at all either!

Now I know the above is exceedingly complicated for the Marxists running our economy right now to understand, and I don’t even expect them to ever understand such complicated economics. But it would be nice if enough voters figured this out and quit electing Marxists, because if they don’t the Marxist will soon run out of other peoples’ money (even with printing an infinite supply of it) and the whole thing is going to come crashing down around our ears.

Once you realize that conservatives are the party of the white, southern aristocracy (who should be the only ones with real rights; poor white males can have some trickle down rights and everyone else isn't a citizen) and that the Confederacy is the true leaders of this country unlawfully repressed by the evil USA it makes a lot more sense what they consider patriotic action and what is sedition.

Nope, the only point of teflon coating is to reduce barrel wear with repeated firing. If I remember everyone flipped a poo poo and banned them and now cops are the only ones allowed to have them even though they do nothing special.

e:

quote:

In 1982, NBC ran a television special on the bullets, supposedly against the requests of many police organizations, wherein it was argued that the bullets were a threat to police. Various gun control organizations in the U.S. labeled Teflon-coated bullets with the epithet "cop killers" because of the supposedly increased penetration the bullets offered against ballistic vests, a staple of the American police uniform. Many erroneously focused on the Teflon coating as the source of the bullets' supposedly increased penetration, rather than the hardness of the metals used. A common resulting misconception, often perpetuated in film and television, is that coating otherwise normal bullets with Teflon will give them armor-piercing capabilities. In reality, as noted above, Teflon and similar coatings were used primarily as a means to protect the gun barrel from the hardened brass bullet, and, secondarily, to reduce ricochet against hard, angled surfaces. The coating itself did not add any armor-piercing abilities to bullets under normal circumstances.

Several of the various calibers of KTW rounds produced could, in fact, penetrate police vests, under certain conditions. However, as Kopsch pointed out in a 1990 interview, "adding a Teflon coating to the round added 20% penetration power on metal and glass. Critics kept complaining about Teflon's ability to penetrate body armor... In fact, Teflon cut down on the round's ability to cut through the nylon or Kevlar of body armor."

One of my friends was making this argument last night, the gist being that if everybody is making at least $10 then the price of everything will increase to compensate and so the actual value of the money will not change (ie $10 now buys what $7 used to). My gut tells me that's not true since it's only the bottom portion of earners who will see a change and everyone else will remain constant but I'm not well-enough versed in economics to intelligently argue the point.

Not to mention it ignores the fact that wages are behind inflation, as well as not all of the cost having to be shifted to the price of goods because of record breaking profits. (Last bit is in regards to big corps)

Basically you have to take into account how much labor costs for things and how much materials cost. I forget where I saw it but something like a $10 min wage raises the price of McDonalds like 17% or something to account for increased labor costs throughout the logistics + store labor.

Found a similar article.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2013/07/price-of-big-mac-could-rise-by-68-cents-if-minimum-wage-doubles/

Basically the inventory/materials costs of min-wage jobs out weight the labor costs.

So in other words if I'm understanding this right the labor costs go up proportionally to the minimum wage but the materials cost doesn't change, meaning the price of a burger would go up some but not as much as minimum wage. That makes sense to me, thanks :)
