The president of Racing Santander is quitting today along with the whole board and the players have threatened that if he doesn't quit then they are just going to show up symbolically in today's Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad because they haven't been paid so they won't play. Also Valencia managed to sign Seydou Keita!

The last time a CdR wasn't played because the players/club refused was in 2000 when Barca refused to play against Atletico because they only had 9 first team players (real reason was that they were horribly beaten in the first leg lol).

Just got around to watching the video of this, can someone explain the story of the ownership issues to me? I mean, Interpol were mentioned and it's made to sound like a pretty clear scam. Did they con the old owner and are now just refusing to sell or something? Fair play to the players though, the sub keeper is apparently breaking into the training centre so he has a place to sleep at night so it's not like it's a case of "they're rich footballers, they'll survive".
