Actually, yes, you can be either too tall or too short to be an astronaut. NASA does not gently caress around regarding people who get shot into space. If you're over 6 feet 4 inches too bad.

Unless they find exactly the right person, I certainly hope it ends with him. As recently as last year he was willing to be pretty controversial ("Run, Trayvon, run!") and I can't imagine a worse fate for the strip than someone turning it into some sappy zombie strip. Maybe they can reprint old ones? That would be nice. A lot of them are probably still relevant. DEAD MAN'S SHOE posted:OK. Williams was racist, product of his time or no. He was a white man a hundred years ago. That's not an excuse, but basically yeah, of course he was a racist. Although I think it's taking things a bit far to interpret the horse's expression as laughter. The way he portrays Wash Funk is still pretty progressive for the time, which admittedly is pretty disheartening. Yeah, basically going into space is still as difficult and expensive as anything humanity has ever done, so if you have an unusual physical profile there's just no way to manage it.

If you're over 6 feet 4 inches too bad. Additionally unless you're a random specialist they have along for a mission your average astronaut is going to be much shorter than that since the selection pool is (or at least was) jet pilots and military jet planes have very small cockpits.

Here are the requirements to be a US Grade A Space Man. Ironically you can be as short as 58 inches, but you have to be at least 62 inches tall to be a pilot. But on the other end a 'mission specialist' can have an inch on their pilot, 76 to 75 inches. Throwing people into space with the world's most developed explosion is serious business.

Midnight Moth posted:Retail After having "done my time" in retail, I don't know why this is always considered such a dumb question. There were many times, especially in the case of a hot item, a clearance, or a particularly good sale, that we would have a tough time keeping the shelf/display stocked. There were lots of times when I was asked "Do you have any more in the back", and I responded "Yep, just let me catch my breath, and I'll run back and grab another load." It doesn't hurt to ask. Now, if we were truly out of an item, and the customer threw a tantrum claiming that we were "holding out", the question then becomes stupid, and laughable. BlueDestiny posted:
