Ah I didn't even notice which is funny because I've heard the guy live at Harmontown a bunch of times. Last time I went after a while of not going they talked about gender stuff and it wasn't particularly funny unfortunately. Kind of a bad one to come back to after a long hiatus. Next episode, "Raising Gazorpazorp," hasn't been officially placed on the schedule yet as far as I can see, but in some places they're saying the 10th. Don't know what that popdesign thing is but I don't think it's right.

It's often wrong, it'll get corrected at some point tonight or tomorrow (not useful I know, but still).

Lots of people voice their opinions about not liking the voices/mannerisms... does anyone else really like the way they talk? I love it all, from the burps to the stutters, to the constant use of 'Rick' and "Morty' in every sentence. The mere fact a child calls his grandfather 'Rick' just amuses the hell out of me for some reason.

The burping mid-sentence was a little bit overused at first, I think. It's been toned down in more recent episodes, serving more as a punctuation mark than a repetitive tic, and it works better that way.

That's the only part of the VA that really bothered me, though, so I'm on board the rest of the way. I can understand either or both of those characters getting annoying for people, though, they've got some really weird mannerisms.

Morty, I love that Rick says "Morty" so much, Morty. A-A-And the stuttering, Morty, that-that has a charm to it as well, Morty. It's charming. *belch*

This whole show has no right being this good. I remember not being very impressed with the pilot but I'm glad I stuck with it.

The :3: face gets a laugh out of me pretty much every time they use it. If there isn't a YouTube :3: compilation by the end of the season, I'll be sorely disappointed.

I like the asterisk eyes now that I've gotten used to them, and now they seem more human-like than the regular dots most animated shows use. Now the only eyes that freak me out on the show are those of the buzz-cut redhead kid in Morty's class. (The one who asks Morty how to make concentrated dark matter.) Pale gingers get soulless, hollow eyes, I suppose?

honestly? I think it's hysterical. The entire way all the dialogue is spoken seems like more of a recorded session made up of riffing and improvisation instead of people reading a script. I think that adds a ton of charm and makes it sound more genuine- it's almost like a standup routine or sketch or something being performed and then animated to if that makes any sense. I wouldn't want them to change a goddamn thing. They've toned it down since the pilot understandably, but not enough so that it's gone.

Mr. Jive posted:

This definitely isn't a show I would casually suggest to any of my female friends since you're right, it's disturbing and absolutely disgusting as hell... but, well, I love it. Other shows seem so vanilla. Sometimes you need a show to stick it's dick right into your brain with a forceful thirsty vengeance. Don't worry, for what it's worth, there are some chicks who love this show. :j:

One of the guys who does the craziest character designs, Zach Bellissimo, has a tumblr full of concept art he posts on here! He's done pretty much all the grotesque alien stuff, he used to work on Dan Vs as well. Not surprising that he used to work for Titmouse, too.
