I must admit, before GT, I would have thought Vegeta be the worst dad ever. As in "you are here to date my daughter? BIG BANG ATTACK!!!" But just look how he lets Bra dress. And he doesn't make her train or anything. Veget afor Best Dad. (by DBZ's abysmally low standards)

Though I don't know how good of a parent one could possibly be letting your daughter live in the same house as Master Roshi and Oolong, but 18 probably has put the fear of god into the more lecherous residents.

I'd say it's a guarantee that the other Kame House residents live in fear of 18. Even after she chills out post-Cell saga she seems like the type that wouldn't hesitate to end anyone who so much as looks at her little girl the wrong way. It really is that Krillin managed to get the biggest catch of a wife in the world. Guy deserved it after all the poo poo he takes over the course of the series.

It's such a great showdown theme and it even gets played a couple of times in DBZ, like when Gohan faces down Cell. To me, Gohans anger is one of the best Faulconer tracks, and I am not a fan of the dub score at all. Just how it starts off very quiet with the piano and then ramps up. I also love how it was used again here and there during the Boo saga.

Wasn't there a scene where she gave him a peck on the cheek before her official hero-turn? I like the idea of the counter getting confused at that point. Krillin got owned. But an attractive woman willingly kissed him. ERROR ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE

I won't defend most of the performances in the Z dub because a lot of them were sss but she was true quality as far as I'm concerned. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug4MfzcC-jo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40hKzjiSUJ8 Whether it's that "I HATE YOU!!!" or the dry "look he noticed. That theme song is pretty cool, but it doesn't really seem to fit her character to be honest. It seems to fit a femme fatale like Catwoman better than #18 who was a straight up fighter and never really used her sexuality at any point. Was it even used during the show at any point out of interest?

Nah, I'm pretty sure that was unique to the album. It's kinda like how Heroic Trunks was only ever used in a Toonami preview and not in an actual DBZ episode. And yet there's a ton of variations of that song on the Faulconer OSTs because it's so goddam good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqHHuD_SeD0

She just seemed angry and bored all the time and that was her primary motivation for doing anything. She also comments on how immature 17 is at times since he'd rather make a game of everything.

It's no "Cha La Head Cha La" but this isn't bad. Japanese DBZ music is really loving cool and didn't need to be replaced with some synth crap for the English dub, but Faulconer should be rewarded for doing his best.

Yeah, characters never really looked as young as they were. Cell Games Gohan looks, aside from height, at least 4 years older than he actually is; I think Future Trunks is only supposed to be about 16 or 17 years old at that time, isn't he?

This is supposed to be a 13-year-old It's even more offputting in GT where Goku is maybe 3/4 as tall as Pan and she's only supposed to be 10 or so. I was very confused about DB Goku's age for a very long time.

Toriyama never really put reality in front of a gag. So Goku looking like a kid, but really being 13, was funny, so he did it that way, that's all. It made for gags like bathtime Bulma going from "aw he's just a confused little boy" to "RAPIST PERVERT TEENAGE BOY KILL HIM." And it was also an example of Toriyama's favorite joke, tiny little kid beating up big huge guys.

Are they quite thriving, with a big population? I've thought this for a while, but I think Vegeta, Raditz etc aren't just talking poo poo when they say the saiyans are the strongest warrior race. The Ginyus, Freeza etc all seem to be insane mutant outliers (Ginyu says as much about his men). Saiyans, and to a lesser extent namekians, are the only species as a whole who seem to have widespread higher ki power. Easy to see why Freeza feared them. Hell, you can only fit 3 of them into the continuity without any major contradictions between them and the main show since they take place during time skips. (Dead Zone: Between DB and DBZ; Bojack Unbound: during the timeskip after Cell; Wrath of the Dragon: the final timeskip post-Buu.)

Dead Zone has the small hiccup of everyone seeing Goku and knowing about Gohan before the start of the Saiyan Saga. Wrath of the Dragon technically fits, but it still doesn't make any drat sense because it tries to fit in an explanation of how Trunks got his sword, though you could just say that it isn't supposed to be the same sword and Trunks is just destined to be a sword guy like in Dragon Ball Online. Bojack is the only one I'd say that's purely without canon contradiction. The Broly movies too, but it strains my credibility to believe that Cell just ignored what was going on in the first one. Android 13 might be free of error too, but then it'd have to take place in the same ten day span as Broly, and it's further baffling for that to all take place in the same ten day time span. Especially if you had Return of Cooler, but it's out by virtue of Goku not being in control of the Super Sayian transformation while on Earth during the first Cooler movie. On the subject of the movies, I only just recently found out that Fusion Reborn was made in 1995. I knew we were getting DBZ late, but it never really occurred to me just how late.
