The inequality is Brazil is very real and staggering. I remember watching a documentary called, "Send a Bullet" that details this very well.

It's also Sochi part 2 with people getting kicked out of their homes, big cost overruns, corruption kickback scandals and also buildings randomly collapsing due to shoddy workmanship.

Anyone got a good stream link for the current events? American TV is all delayed and useless (plus I don't have a TV in my room).

I like the fact that corporations own the water from the sky now.

You have a bucket under a roof drain to give your kids water because you live in a slum with no hookup to municipal water?

That's an offense you piece of inhuman filth! Unless you pay your rainwater usage bill.

Yup Olympics are pretty horrible on somewhat competent side like London you at least get a reminder that corporations pretty much own the world and on the ever worse side you have bloodbaths like in the Mexico City Olympics.

Also not surprising the the IOC is picking places like Brazil or Qatar since there's much more kickback money to be made.

I also wonder how companies like Ddoppelmayr could even do business in Sochi given all the anti-corruption business laws in the EU/USA but how in Russia it's pretty much a standard business practice to expect 15-20% in bribe payments for new contracts.
