Gil Retail Give me a break Marla. Average job tenure is like what, four years now, and worse for retail? You're a statistical anachronism. Bleeker the Rechargeable Dog Because she'll bolt the second she sees a cat or squirrel or another dog and good luck chasing after her and bailing her out from the pound. Dustin Better not trivialize any sport Dustin or you'll piss off the purists. On the Fastrack An AI that trolls its users? Safe Havens Sounds like a conspiracy to kill the human and reclaim mermaid girl and their halfling kid.

The only reason Josh leaving was such a problem was because she relieved him of the two week notice responsibility. Midnight Moth posted:Dustin You think that's bad just look at the Summer Olympics. Gymnasts have to completely warp their own body and might win three medals over their lifetime if they're lucky. Michael Phelps meanwhile gets a cartload of them every four years because "swimming in a slightly less efficient way" qualifies as its own event. For three different styles. Midnight Moth posted:Safe Havens I'm going to ignore the obvious stupidity of these characters for a moment and just posit- why do they care? Most advantages of citizenship are contingent on the assumption you're living in the country where you have citizenship. Why would anyone want Merfolk citizenship if they're not living in Merfolkland? The only use I can think of for it is that the Merfolk will evacuate them in case of a war. And this may be Safe Havens but let's not get crazy here.

SynthOrange posted:Good thing it's a shittily written comic with shallow characters written for laughs then because they're all horrible people. Aw, dammit. Jane's World is gradually morphing into Dykes To Watch Out For. Looking back, the signs have been there all along, I just didn't want to see. At least I can always count on Gahan Wilson for a pick-me-up.

The error here is that the octopus is not using that knife to stab the shark. Sharks have sharp pointy teeth so you have to fight fire with fire.

JaggerMcDagger posted:What is going on in this strip? Why are they trying to convert that baby to communism? Why is a communist baby so well drawn? Archive is behind a paywall, but spoiler-blocking anyway to err on the side of caution: Baby Michael is the son of a ballerina named Chariman (the only name I've found her called by yet, dunno if it's first or last) and Prince Frederick of Mythania. Communist revolutionaries staged a coup and killed the rest of Mythania's royal family, with only those three escaping the capital. Frederick later died while acting as a decoy so that his lover (wife? fiancee?) and child could escape to America, which leaves little Mikey as the last living person with a clear and rightful claim to the Mythanian throne. On learning of this, rebel leader Maloventi packed up a few dozen spies and hopped the next flight Stateside. Objective: track them down, rescue the infant prince from the clutches of his capitalist pig-dog mother, then take him back to Mythania where his impressionable mind can be properly molded into a model of modern socialism, thereby disarming if not outright shattering the loyalist resistance and effectively ensuring that the only boots standing on the necks of the peasantry for any foreseeable future will be Soviet-issued. The Commies had found Mommy and were almost literally just two steps behind her when she ducked into a park and tossed Michael into the arms of the first person she came across. This person just happened to be Desmond, butler to former US Marine-turned-private detective and all-around Renaissance man Remington "Rip" Kirby, and that's how the plot got started. And that's the short version!

Fok_It I'm starting to regret the font choice, it's really difficult to work with sometimes when the English is just that much longer. It was just the one that most closely resembled the text in the original. I don't want to start handwriting it myself. "Rocks" has no vulgar connotations in Finnish. Originally the joke was about the pin (the centerpoint of the curling target area) which in Finnish is called the nipple.

It was great trolling through 25 cent and dollar bins to find them all at any random shop I found. (Good comic by the way, sort of a pre-Deadpool Deadpool but much less gore and more martial arts).
