It worked because the heterophobes kept their business to themselves. It was a firm of courtesy and consideration, based in wisdom, that kept the peace. Now folks have this "reality show mentality" that they can say and act any kind of way and it will be accepted. To be fair, [I don't want to] hear about some guy sodomizing his wife or girl friend. If she's allowing him to sodimiz her, I don't want to hear about it-, especially if its my neice or sister. Certain things will never be accepted. quote:If Miami truly is your "dream school" then you know it already. When you were playing street ball you amagined yourself as one of the "Great Canes" and hell probably still do. Here are just a few reasons why you should go ahead and commit sooner than later. One of the biggest reasons is why delay the inevitable? Commit early so you can go ahead and recruit other kids to your "dream school". The best want to play with the best or at least thats what i thought. Here's an opportunity to truly put your stamp on the program. Forget being selfish and waiting till signing day. If you really want to prove you are a team player then you know what you need to do. Another reason to commit sooner than later is because the recruiting process is very taxing. I have never gone through the process "first hand" but as a fan, I have a front row seat to the madness that is called recruiting. You may think you want the limelight, but personally as an outsider looking in, it looks overated. Another reason is to put on for your city. Not everyone has an opportunity to not only get a ""Miami education", but even fewer have an opportunity to play in front of friends and family. There are just a few reasons. Does anyone want to add to the list? TILL I DIE #stacked2015class

I am starting to not like the term homophobe, basically because phobia means fear. People who are homophobes aren't scared of gay people, they actively hate them. I know this is a minor thing, with a very small sample size but I had a friend who was truly homophobic, as in scared of gay people. He had an out gay uncle that physically (not sexually) abused him and as children are to do, associated gay people with people who were going to beat him. He had homophobia in the truest sense. Maybe because I am in the medical field its more sensitive to me, but I just think sometimes people hide behind the label homophobia when really the title should be whatever greek/latin terms mean "I hate gay people".

I think hatred of gay people is often based on irrational fears, cf. former negrophobia for example. Gay/black men (in both cases it's often the men that draw the strongest reactions) are sexually hyperactive and will corrupt our children/white women, will assault me sexually/physically at slightest provocation, cause society to change in ways that are uncomfortable for me, etc. In any case, in the end it's just semantics, and etymology has little authority over usage. I guess you could call it something like sexualism if you really wanted to explain it every time you use it.
