Yeah the cosplaying is really not the lead here. It's Troper Tales.

I love these episodes where there's a little chunk where they get distracted and just make fun of eachother for a sec. "When you go on a date is it awkward if you both wear the same metal t-shirt?"

The cosplay episode is great just because of the vast variety of nerd involved.

The first twenty minutes of that podcast was like a cosplay version of Not Always Right. Might be one of my new favorite episodes.

In the midst of relistening to some old episodes, and currently at the NaNoWriMo one. "You had me until you left out bacon" is still amazing.

I think the best callback in recent memory is "My name is Sectetary!" which is just a wonderful line presented in a wonderful fashion.

My favorite recent callback was actually not in the F Plus. Left Handed Radio started up again, and referenced Buff Grandpa from the School Survival episode.

New episode is up. Seems to be about "wanderpunks" which sounds like a fancy way to say homeless people, probably mostly about truckstop blowjobs though. edit: now that I've listened to the episode, how do some of these people actually get access to the internet and post this? Are they just pretending they live in an abandoned trailer with a bunch of heroin addicts? Is this mostly roleplay/make-believe bullshit written by bored people? I don't think it really matters if it is real or not. If its real, then sure whatever, gotta do what you gotta do to survive, right? If its fake, then that's pretty special and requires some kinda amazingly broken mentality to actively want to play pretend at being homeless for internet cred. On a completely more positive note that thing Lemon quoted at the start works way too well with Aqualung, jeez.

I laughed far too hard at the intro just because it worked far, far too well with that song. If anything they should do a parade album with these songs referencing old F+ episodes. I wouldn't be able to give them money fast enough!

It seems like they're the sort of weird internet people who romanticise things that were/are generally kind of awful in reality, as opposed to be actual homeless people out of necessity. I'd bet for every actual crazy homeless person on these sites, there's two or three who just go sleep in empty houses, dig through empty bins, or hitch hike to the next town and back, only to go running back to their parents house to grab their iPhone and go sit in starbucks. Come winter, I bet they'd be straight back somewhere warm and dry as opposed to freezing to death on a bench.

If you're baffled by these people, just look into gutter/crust punks. Some of them are dumb teens that play at being homeless, others are kids that were kicked out of their homes, and they always have a dog on a shoelace leash.

As goofy as some of those weddings are, I can't really hate any of them, and it's telling that at the end of the episode the readers had trouble really expressing what they actually found wrong with the concept of a nerdy themed wedding. Looking over the photos, I have to say that it looks like most of the people are having a goddamn good time. Traditional weddings are boring, why not throw some of the nerdy poo poo you like in there? ... Except that Twin Peaks wedding. I love Twin Peaks, but that looked really awkward.

Yeah I didn't feel this episode was as strong because I couldn't really do more than roll my eyes a lot at the stuff being read. These really sound like run of the mill nerds who got lucky in the human connection lottery and it's hard to poo poo on them too hard for doing what they want. The big moral of the episode, as Lemon says, is that if you have an open bar you can do whatever you want with your celebration. There was also a pleasing lack of cake jokes in the stuff being read, or my mind autoblocked them.
