I recently posted something from The Arms Peddler but it didn't really show anything significant from the manga. These are much better at showing what the manga is.

I'm only a few chapters in but Trinity Seven is something nice and brainless to read between issues of Shingeki no Kyojin and The World God Only Knows, plus it's only up to 30 something issues or so.

Cooking manga seem to be a hot item these days, so how 'bout some Italian? But Bambino! is less about the cooking, and more about the experience of actually working in a restaurant kitchen. You don't get many pages of people turning into beings of pure energy because this rice is super tasty or whatever. They do get very intense sometimes, though.

Like, REALLY intense.

This is honestly really fantastic, and after years of it been sat there untranslated, a group has finally started translating part 2, and they have earned my eternal gratitude.

The drama is also pretty great, and stars Jun Matsumoto who is pretty great, although he plays a very different Ban compared to the manga version.

Yeah, I am so looking forward to the sequel being translated enough to get some good reading done. Bambino is pretty amazing.

C'mon, Hayama totally went one winged angel in his first arc.

I'm glad the people who're translating Secondo found an Italian translator. Sekiya's Italian is shaky at best and it was always a pain in the rear end trying to decipher what he meant using phonetic kana and ruby text translations, and then hope your ignorant transliterations made sense to the actual Italian speakers you showed it to.

yeah I hope they make more. Great art style and a great level of minimalism. Adorably cute and dark at the same time.

I LOVE Bambino and am also glad about part two being translated. I might watch the drama, I like Matsumoto, fun actor to watch in dramas when he's not voice acting for games and anime.

So far only 6 chapters in and they're making the other chef, Tsuchimiya, an unredeemable rear end in a top hat. Based on the titles for the upcoming chapter titles Isolation, Style, Taste, Bedlam 1&2 it take a few more chapters for anything to happen.

Also, I can't tell, is Ban the head pasta chef? Because if he is, being undermined by a subordinate employee is a huge deal for a chef, like fire him on the spot especially at a high class restaurant. There has to be a continuity of service at every level, from cutting vegetables to frying the meats, and if chef d-bag is telling the other two to do it his way and ignore Ban then the overall quality should suffer.

Tsuchiya is a huge part of why I didn't continue scanlating Bambino. He's a poo poo antagonist and only works because the plot requires everyone to be retarded when it comes to him and Ban. As you said, Ban is head of his section, and it's really irritating to see everyone including the newbies continue to treat him as, well, a baby.

Well, so much for that. I'll keep reading it, but even Katori was a better antagonist because he at least had a reason to poo poo on Ban.

It could be a bit too much on the "hot girl falls for fat nerd" but based on the slow pacing and overall quality of the oneshot makes it seem much more likely that their relationship would develop realistically. It's probably the best serious-realistic relationship I've seen in a manga too.

Are you posting this because it happens to also be getting an animated series in the form of shorts? Unfortunately, I don't think the animation features the glorious foot-work the manga does. :v:
