Apparently Alex Browne did his ACL against Gold Coast last night. That's probably career over for him seeing as his contract runs out this year and he hasn't had many opportunities at the AFL level to secure a place on the list long term.

I got 47 from memory, for some reason I had a huge mental blank on Scully (couldn't think of his drat name!) and only got him with a minute to spare. Looking at that list, I didn't realise Melbourne had picked up Aiden Riley! Any Melbourne fans know how he's going?

I remember him getting walked off. Poor guy. Twisted his knee pretty ugly, and said he heard a pop. Figured it wasn't gonna be good news.

Still coming back from his broken leg, on the long term injury list already, but apparently he is ahead of where they thought he would be. Not sure when he will return (but obviously after Round 8 due to LTI).

Seems anyone with the last name Browne is destined to have a hosed AFL career. (see: Andrew Browne, Freo) Pretty satisfied with the belting we gave the dockers today. Shuey, Ellis and Yeo looked pretty good.

Just spotted Mitch Clarke and Nathan Jones from the Dees taking photos in Degraves St on the way to work this morning. Did some googling and found out Mitch Clarke is a bit of a shutterbug. Has his own facebook page dedicated to the craft - https://www.facebook.com/mitchclarkphotography He takes a pretty nice portrait!

The UltimateFooty draft is meant to be this Friday but seeing as we only have 5 people in the league and it's pretty early, I've pushed it back 2 weeks to Monday 3rd March (Labour Day) at 7pm.

VFL Park lives again!
|
# ? Feb 19, 2014 08:58 |

From what I remember, VFL Park had good drainage for its time. MCG and other ovals would be 95% mud before VFL Park would lose its greenness That said, the rain has been insane here, plus Melbourne hasn't had a good amount of rain all year till last weekend. The ground will be pretty hard and take a while to soak up that water.

Waverley sticks out in my mind as the most miserable waterlogged place in existence with local weather patterns that made it piss down when the rest of the city was bright and sunny. I could be totally wrong though and have that image formed from unrepresentative personal experience since I was only in my early teens I think by the time they knocked it down.

Well, they're playing. I can't believe this is the same ground from that vine. They did an amazing job clearing off the water.
