After that, I actually went and looked up Yaakov's Twitter and read the Dry Bones FB page too. I couldn't tell you why I did it. I was giggling like an idiot the whole time.

Political leanings aside, we can safely say that no, Obama is not the first American president to be a king. That fine honor belongs to none other than Gerald Ford. quote:President Gerald R. Ramirez clearly doesn't get how much of a crutch that godawful instant hatching is, especially when he supplements it with his apparently aimless cross-hatching. It's a mess, but mostly because the hatching makes it incomprehensible. If that was shaded normally, or hell, not shaded at all, it might not be good but it would actually be readable. But he covers it from top to bottom in completely parallel scratches, so none of the shading fits the objects being shaded, and then he takes a pen and just goes to town, with no regard for any form of aesthetics. Look at that pillar, the pattern there isn't shadow; it's charcoalised cobwebs. And then there's the curtains and drapes, where none of the shading fits or flows, and the effect on the clothes which is just distractingly bad and out of place. You can't really tell what the seals on either side of the picture are meant to be, because they're such an illegible mess. And it all comes together to make your eyes want to vomit themselves out of your skull. Can he really think this looks good? Or is he using the same self-deceptive "It's just my style" reasoning that Rall uses to explain his stuff?

This single picture from 2008(?) is why every conservative's caricature of Obama has his eyes closed.

Tom Guycot posted:So, I just noticed ramirez ALWAYS draws obama with his eyes closed, is there a reason for that? It is based on this image: I have no idea what the context of it is, whether Obama was honestly making a smug face for some reason or he just happened to be blinking during a photograph or got caught mid-sneeze or whatever, but cartoonists latched onto it as the way Obama ALWAYS LOOKS ALL THE TIME! Edit: Beaten like Mitt Romney in the 2012 Election.

Is Bennett just trying to give NRA types a chance to AGC his stuff? What's the intended message here other than an easily reinterpreted "guns bad"? Also, his drawings of guns really are not great, which is unusual.

Man, this whole "OBAMA EXECUTIVE ORDERS BOOGITY BOOGITY" thing is really not going to work for Republicans. That's the kind of dry, philosophical criticism that liberals usually try to pull and it's not going to work on swing voters (who would probably respond more harshly to inaction). All it's good for is working the olds and bitter clingers and racists into a fury, which they are already in, all the time. Every actual executive order Obama issues will be popular because, well, he pays people to figure out what the popular thing to do is and listens to them. Like a politician. Considering the only other talking point I've seen recently is "OBAMA IS DONE FOR, BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE, REALLY THIS TIME FOR REAL" when there's basically nothing left to go wrong for Obamacare and it's already proven it will work as intended. Maybe Steny Hoyer has a point about the midterm elections being winnable for the Democrats, who knows.

It's still better than what most people can do when they're trying. I do wish he'd do more international stuff if there's nothing going on locally though.

Wake up, sheeple Tax dollars go directly to paying government officials who waste it immediately. At the same time, the government produces money from a magical bag and uses it to pay for inefficient services. These two things are completely unrelated. Taxes aren't used to pay for services, don't be silly. I swear, this is the same sort of logic I used when I was 5 and was vaguely aware my parents went to work for some reason and at the same time aware that they were able to buy food and so on but the two really weren't connected in my mind.
