As a strict vegan, yeah you would just die, salad fork in hand at some point. I make my own meals like maybe once every two weeks? Otherwise I have a spot for whatever I want to eat. I was recently right in the part of LA where they live and had like a hundred places to go to for a meal, so yeah. Also, don't go to the vegan thread on these here forums, it's terrible.

I know that UYD usually stays away from high profile stories, but I really want to hear that the guys have to say about the "Satan Worshiping Serial Killer From Craigshouse" Are you reading this...

Well, salad is also a really broad term. I don't know poo poo about vegan diets but I'm sure you can make salads that provides complete nutrition. Just throw some form of vegan friendly protein in the salad and you should be good, right? I could be completely wrong. I'm a dirty meat eater.

I didn't know this until I tried a vegetarian diet, but there are "complete proteins" that contain all 9 essential amino acids, which are mostly found in animals. So even if you're getting protein from soy or beans, it's really easy to not get the right kind, or to not get enough iron or B-12, which we mostly get from eating things that have blood. This has been Veganism 101. Are you reading this?

mcvey posted:Then what's that cheeseball doing in your mouth? The best thing about that whole story is that I actually didn't realize that Jah dropped off the vegan thing at some point before I tried and stuck with it, since I started at the beginning. It was even better when he started telling stories about eating cheese, and when he revealed that he ate fish, and Seth freaked out, I was dying with laughter.

That story about gay and bi young men roiding up is kind of hilarious to me. Last fall my girlfriend and I found out that her brother is bi, and when he was living with us last summer he would work out at least three hours a day six days a week. I never saw anything illegal or illicit but he definitely ate nothing but ground beef and beef jerky in that time, and spent about as much money on workout supplements as he did on food. Maybe I haven't been giving him enough credit for not cutting corners when it comes to picking up men?

UYD is even more interesting if your first listen through is from the most recent to the oldest episodes. Johnathan gets simultaneously happier and dumber. I just started ep 230 and Johnathan's great great grandfather was half black which makes Johnathan a certified african american.

The first stand-up Fallon got for his new show was Jerry Seinfeld. He opens with a three minute bit on cell phones, it's so bad.

Serious deja vu. e: from 298 (11/23/11): 39:17 - Jerry Seinfeld did some stand-up on Letterman and got a standing ovation for some of his wack comedy: "I mean, these cell phones! Star 69? That's the number they picked for this thing? (Episode 036, 9:12) … Cialis? The announcer says call your doctor if you have an erection lasting 4 hours? Yeah, I think I knew that already!" Seth getting angry at Jerry Seinfeld for making no-longer-relevant *69 jokes in '06 then Seth getting even angrier in '11 for Jerry telling the exact same loving jokes is just so amazing.

I can't listen at work anymore with headphones. At least not new episodes. Right as Seth asked "who pays if it is two gay dudes?" I said out loud, full volume "the top! He's the giver, not the receiver" It's hard to explain to a group of geneticists, even if they're all pretty cool, why I said that so matter of factly.

Seth talking about Cart Life and Papers Please was the hardest I've laughed about anything in years. I got so sick of hearing about those games last year and UYD is the last place I thought I'd hear them discussed, but Seth absolutely nailed it. Everyone else can't be critical of them without talking about how deep the games are or the respect they have for said games, but Seth just says "these games are psychotic" and he's absolutely right.
